Re: Letz Getz Started (Hyundai Getz CRDi)- UPDATE: 40000, new alloys, tires!!! (page

Just got back from another 1000 KM round trip, and as I was alone this time, managed to do speeds that Prajesh does daily

I was above 120 most of the times, and stayed at 160 KMPH for a while too, topping out at 170. The C.drives are amazingly grippy, especially in wet conditions (it rained moderate to heavily between Dharmapuri and Bargur, ~60 KM), and stood by me when an old man with his grandson on a Scooty decided to stop bang on my track when I was on 130 KMPH - no skids, no squeals. Just stopped without any drama.

On the performance front - the car is reaching 170 KMPH without much ado, but is taking its sweet time to climb up. I don't get to do anything over 120 KMPH on my daily run, so until I get to drive on the Coimbatore - Salem NH47 alone, I won't know what I top out at. This, along with low(er than usual) mileage is my immediate concern. Any pointers?

Next weekend is going to be HID + ICE weekend!!

Checked the speeds again. This time used the GPS along with Mapmyindia and at 2000rpm the GPS showed 90kmph . In speedo the speed was higher due to the difference in tire size.

@phoen!x, visited this thread after quite some time, with the intention of checking out what the deal was about "driving without diesel" and "different Getz' doing different speeds at same rpm".

But looks like this was a useful visit, as I guess I hopefully have the reason for finding water in the passenger foot-well of my car after a rain, like seen on your car.

Had a couple instances when after the rains, I have found the front passenger footwell soaked with water. Could never trace the cause. Will checkout the windshield drain.

small DIY - take out the wipers - open the hood - unscrew the plastic cowl and check the LHS corner behind the cowl for traces of leaves / dirt - get the muck cleaned. We had the same issue in our Getz Prime.
Is this DIY 'Getzpecific' or same for the Baleno too ?

SB - it should be same for the baleno too - also check the AC drain pipe for leaks. there is usually a rubber funnel type thingy attached for collecting the water (which is connected to the drain pipe). Temporary measure to soak up the wet mat - use sheets of news paper & remove the rubber mat for sometime.

Offtopic - @ Mods - i didn't receive any PM / email when supremebaleno quoted my post :( (PM option check in UserCP)

Jayanth,
Any updates on projector setup?

BTW I screwed up my getz right HL reflector auto leveller. Since i saw some dust accumulated in the reflector area, i washed it with water. Now i can hear some noise and i can see HL leveller is not working. Also the long beam for right side bulb is not working.
Looks like time to replace whole HL unit. Any info on cost? Also this time i am planning to get 55/60W Philips extreme vision.

Re: Letz Getz Started (Hyundai Getz CRDi)- UPDATE: 40000, new alloys, tires!!! (page

@KP,
I shifted to Navi Mumbai recently. Got a price of 2650 per piece from sharayu hyundai.
I believe it is without labour.

My car's reflectors have gone black because of 90/100W bulbs.
Should i go with adding spot lamps like hella + fog lamps? Instead of buying new headlight unit?

If i replace reflectors, will buy philips extreme vision 55/60W.

What do you guys suggest me to do?

I would go for a new headlight unit just so that the looks are not changed. I hate to see spot lamps on sedans and hatches.

The headlight unit with Philips extreme vision/Osrams are good enough for night driving.
