I am scheduled for a 50,000km service for my Accent Viva CRDi sometime early next month.

Touchwood, everything's going just fine and i'am in sort of some dilema what to mention to service advisor since i DON'T have any issues with the car.

Apart from the regular check-up that i know about, can someone throw some light as to what other components should i also get "checked/replaced" at this service interval?

At 50k, Few things that you need to check /replace:
  1. Transmission Oil
  2. Coolant
  3. Cooling Coil /radiator / intercooler cleaning
  4. Timing Belt
  5. Front Axle Joint check and regreasing
  6. Check suspension and bushes
If I can think of something else will let you know.

Cheers

If I remember correctly the timing belt should be replaced at around 80k Km's, so that should give you some more time. In my car all the major expenses were incurred after crossing the 80k mark.

I know things have been pretty slow on this thread as i am not getting too much chance to drive this pete'd beauty.

Finally, after lurching around for a few days, my Viva has completed the 50,000kms mark

Today, it went for its 50K kms services with odometer reading at 50090 kms. There are absolute no problems in the car , not even small niggles. It runs like brand new.

I was in two minds whether to give it for service or not

Nevertheless, I told the service guys to execute the following :-

a) Replace oil ( Mobil 1)
b) Replace Diesel Filter
c) Clean Air Filter thoroughly ( Green Cotton)
d) Check Suspension, Brakes, Clutch and Timing Belt
e) Replace Gear oil ( Doing it for the first time since buying the car)
f) Through Wash, Interior cleaning and Wheel Alignment and Balance

I should receive the car this evening. Will update with expense details then.

Yesterday, I got my car back from service promptly at 6pm. And, the grand total came to the following

Mobil 1 ( Delvac MX) : Rs.1000
Diesel Filter : Rs.992
Oil Filter : Rs.450
Gear Oil Change (3L) : Rs.500
Including Distill Water, Miscelleneous and VAT, Grand Total: Rs.3400

Labour Cost : FREE
Wheel Alignment and Balance : FREE
Interior Cleaning : FREE

My car is insured with Tata AIG and they have this scheme. I am using them for second year and boy, its amounting to good savings

Total expense after 50,000kms on my Accent Viva CRDi is only Rs.21,400 (General Service & Wheel Alignment and Balance including) which works out to roughly 0.40 paisa per kilometer.

Now is that cheap or what?

After the service, there is a distinct change as all know. The steering has become slightly tigher and now feels better. After the gear oil change, the gearshift has become so smooth, its unbeilevable. It was quite smooth before but after the change, its butter smooth.

Engine noise seems reduced and pick-up has gone up a notch and it lurches forward at the slightest touch to the gas.

Some astonishing facts of my Viva's tyres

Stock OEM Tyres ( Bridgestone S320) : Used them for a total of 33,000kms and there was only a SINGLE puncture

Michelin XM1+ : Moved to these tyres for better performance and after 17,000kms, NO PUNCTURE

During entire 50K Kms, experienced only 1 puncture.

Touchwood, hope this smooth run continues as i am yet to learn to change a flat

Overall, the car now feels as good as brand new and i am very happy with its performance, super low maintenance and great reliability till date.

Hi Pandey ji, where did you give the car for servicing.
I have also shifted to TATA AIG , but as the car is under warranty, I wont have much benefit out of it. And sad thing is , after I received the documents I was shocked to see that they don't have either of fortune and Mody ford service centres listed in their booklet. Thinking of cancelling it for a while now.
