It is better not to do steep cornering etc within 500km of new tyre. Typically tyre settles down during this period.
This is not a rule but following this can be a good practice because whatever problem arise(if any) will come during this period.

100-150 Kilometers is ok but 500 Kms would be too much on my patience ... but will try to keep the cornering speeds low as much as possible. Hope there is no problem if the straight line speed exceeds 150 Kmph ??

Looks hot! Been waiting a long time to see this upgrade! We need to do a little run on the Lake Gardens flyover after your running-in is done to see the difference. Maybe a little comparative study between F1s and PP2s

hmmm.. but Phoenix will smoke the Baleno on the flyover as its handling is way better than the BlackPearl. And with Pedders and PP2 its in a different league. So it would be gross injustice to the F1s to pit them against the PP2s

Nice wheels, Blackpearl. And better late, mentioning that I loved your review. I like people who love their cars. A friend here in Bombay owns a Baleno that he will not drive in the rain for fear of having to deal with waterlogging. He will slow to a crawl at each crack, hump or pothole in the road. In comparison, I am a fiend thrashing the living daylights out of my car. Have to tell him about you and your Blackpearls' highway jaunts.

Well, Blackpearl is really Sumitro+ his Baleno... so I don't know how much of an injustice it will be

Thanks prabuddhadg. its not that I drive my car very carefully, I do rip it quite a lot. Modern day cars can take a lot of beating and keep on performing for many years. What I try to do is not compromise on the servicing front. Hopefully BlackPearl will be able to keep performing for a long time

please dont be so modest. I have seen you driving Phoenix on the flyover last saturday night and those are speeds which BlackPearl or I could only dream about. I am not going overboard, but taking those at 100 + speeds speaks loads about the car and your confidence. After driving for close to 50 K on punny 165s, it will take sometime before my perception of taking high speed turns on good tyres is changed. After that hopefully I will start realising the differences between PP2s and F1s and S drives. Till then ignorance is bliss

Was that for a set of 5 alloys? Or 4? How much did the tyres cost?

Congratulation BP (Baleno+Sumitro) for the new much deserved shoes. I personally loved it when they were in motion. Why don't you upload some videos in youtube?

Changed engine oil - Motul Synergie 6100 series

Changed engine oil today to Motul Synergie 6100 Series 15W-50. Had been using Mobil 1, but this seems better from the intial impression.

MOTUL Motor Oil - 6100 Series - Group 5 Motorsport - A premier automotive performance store in San Diego
