I think it is hard to come across a used GV XL-7. In all these years, I have seen just one silver colour XL 7 in Bangalore. In any case it was said to be a guzzler with cramped interior and not so good handling
thanks Guna. Also interesting is that there is a Forester in Delhi for sub-4 lakhs. But it will take a braver soul than me to take on ownership of that vehicle

GV owners can comment on real-life long term FE, but yes Mitsu spares can be expensive.

I would say, if the car is well looked after and if you get it thoroughly checked, it may not be a bad idea to consider it.
I am collecting Vitamin-M & then will go round the market for a good 2.4L AT model.( I make too much I will then go in for a new Koleos:D)

Sorry sridhar, my post got mangled as I was trying to post through the Android app and most of it got cut off due to some connectivity issue.
What I was going to ask the forum is their opinion on the following choices in front of me:
- 50K driven 2008 2.4MT Suzuki GV - full service record available, for 7L
- 40K driven 2010 Yeti - full service record, for 11L
- 20K driven 2012 Yeti - full service record, for 11L
My heart really leans for the Yeti (esp. the 2012 one) but in terms of Vitamin-M, the GV is perfect (I hate EMIs). Any thoughts? I would definitely prefer having a kind-hearted TBHP GV owner who is happy to spend time with clueless me, to help go over the vehcile! As a second option, any suggestions on good GV mechanics in Delhi who can assess the vehicle for me? (am happy to pay for this service).

Here is a useful clue...:) The 2.4MT was released in July 2009. Therefore, there is no 2008 2.4MT Grand Vitara.

Well, I am hoping to keep my GV well beyond 10 years. Spares have never been a problem so far. Service is easily available and is cheaper my i10 service. I don't have any experience with Yeti though.

Depends on ur usage requirements. Do you need the 4WD & low transfer case of the GV or you are ok with an AWD setup? - For this there are many schools of thought & I for one have taken a fully loaded Maruti800 thru tracts that only a Tractor could traverse. But now
I want a 4WD:D
even though I do not need one.
Are you ready to take a gamble on Skoda ASSS? If the Yeti has 6 airbags is that additional safety more important than off road capability etc etc?
So take a call along with your financial comfort zone & decide. But once u take a call do not look back.
Samurai, in November your GV had done 58k km. What is the odo reading now? What is the mileage at this age, in the city and on the hwy?
There is a used GV I might be able to lay my paws on. Don't have any details yet, but your answers will help. Thanks.

Now it is pretty close to completing 65K.
The city FE depends on traffic conditions, say 7-8kmpl. The 4-lane highway FE is about 12-12.5kmpl. The mixed road long distance FE is about 11-11.5kmpl.

I forgot to update the thread about the parts changed in March.
And this is AC filter that was changed after 5+ years of service.
@Sumurai You should drive to Goa every now and then...Petrol is Cheaper than HSD!! ;-)
Nearest Goa border is 210kms away, and the entry toll is 250 bucks. Not worth it.
