what is the config of the exhaust as anoops asked?

how much did it cost?

i am thinking of changing my ikons exhaust, coz the last can has rusted and is ready to give up any time, option 1 is go for OE replacement or else a Free flow?

Hey NC,

Everytime i drive my friends ikon i have this urge to rip his stock tires off and take the wheels&tires off my car and put it on the ikon@!!! ..infact i just got back from ikon-ing around town.....and i have always wondered how extremely awesome the handling would be with some better rubber?

so.....TELL US!
(also, your pirellis seem to be the touring ones..not outright sport tires/ultra performance..right? )

yup rehaan,

i had asked for 185/60 R14 but got 185/70R14 ... if i wud have gone for the delivery , i wud have got it changed ..but then its ok...yes they are not outright performance tyres...they do perfectly as far as cushioning from bad roads are concerned but lack that just a little bit during sporty driving....

now they are due for a change as i have crossed the 41000 km mark....

yes better rubber will definitely improve the handling ....adding to the fun factor ....

cheers

Hi Guys,

Am going in for a Ford Ikon 1.3 Anniversary model - I would like to know a couple of things
a) Will aloys and tubeless tyres make a big difference to the drive quality? Do they affect FE in any manner? Is it true that any slight damage to the alloys (hitting a pot hole at high speed) lead to replacing the alloy?
b) Does the K&N filter and free flow exhaust affect FE (especially for the 1.3) -How much does it cost? Are there auth. distributors in India?
c) Am getting a JVC MP3 system - any problems with this particular unit (I am assuming that this is the base unit)
d)

hey zazuaza
u made a good decsion
well theres a jvc deck in my cuz brothers santro...
its quite good but u need to get some good speakers with them...

the tubeless tyres will be more safer and will improve the ride while the alloys will increase the FE marginally as they are lighter...
till date ive never seen any alloy cracking up wen going over a pothole...
get an indian alloy like hindalco or aura tc ....

the k an n filters will improve FE and power and shoul cost apprx 3.5 from an authorised dealer
the freeflow will improve or decrese the FE depening on which one u choose and should cost 8.5 for a full job

cheers

Thanks for the info. guys! The JVC MP3 unit is what the dealer is giving as part of the deal in exchange for the Ford cassette deck that the Anniversary model comes with.

He's offering a 10k corporate discount plus a 5k dealer discount. He's giving the standar mats plus a 3M treatment for the interiors and anti-rust treatment for the chassis.

The total cost in Bangalore is coming to 5,52,000/-. I suppose this is as good as it gets - any opinions??

Hi zazuaza
the price dfference betwee the 1.3 Anniversary or flair compared to the 1.6 exi is just 50-60 k now .

I think , u should go for the 1.6 then
Give it a thought.
