Re: 5-years with a Hyundai Elantra SX | Ownership review

Dear Mr.Oberoi, thank you for the detailed thread.

I have the 2017 Elantra SX(O) AT petrol. It’s a lovely, refined car but FE is dismal now, sub-6 kmpl with worsening traffic & living in the heart of the city. Used to be 7-8 kmpl in the city in 2017-2019.

Loved the blacked out front grill before replacement - how did you manage that? Sticker job or an aftermarket grill?

My vehicle is out of warranty now & I am looking to upgrade the lights - do you happen to know the kinds of bulbs & wattage present in the car or any idea where I can find this info?

I want to install a 55W HID 4300K for the low beam projector, probably ~25W 3000-4000K HID for the projector fogs (it is dismal now with halogens) & probably a higher halogen output for the high beams.

White LED lights (6000K) have lower wavelength than 4300K colour temperature lights, so higher performance is necessary.

Re: 5-years with a Hyundai Elantra SX | Ownership review

Petrol automatics sure are thirsty. Most cars give less mileage for short duration journeys. With increase in traffic, fe numbers will go down.
It's a normal paint job on the grill. I have got it painted twice and the second guy did a better job than the first but it again needs painting since paint doesn't stick well on chrome.

Check the manual for bulbs details. If you want a digital copy I have this uploaded herehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6f...dwdgFx2O-aFZ7Q

Even I tried upgrading to hid but because of bad experience from the installer I got them removed. Make sure to get it installed from someone experienced. Check if you have an authorised morimoto hids installer in your city.
You can also go for Excelite branded hid. This brand is OEM for Hyundai.
