4 tyres of Michelin Energy XM 1 185/70 R-14 for 8800 is it? or its a rate of 1 tire?As seen tire thread and 8800 for 4 tires is quite a good deal, Yokos AVS ES100 is costing around 32-3300 per piece means 12800-13200 for 4 tires.Could any one put the rates over here.

I got the rate of Rs. 3200/- per tire for Michelin Energy XM1 185/70 R14. He gave me Rs.1000 for every stock tire i.e Jk 165/80 R14.

I swapped 4 tires and the net amount came out to be as follows:

4 Michelin Energy XM1 185/70 R14 @3200 each = 12800

4 Jk 165/70 R14 echanged @1000 each = 4000 -
---------
Net Payout from my pocket = 8800

Guys I am running them on 36 PSI, both front and rear and it surely feels good.

hey all, as i said earlier, in another thread, i havent fitted the tires yet. my car itself is coming in only 2 days later. yes i know 18 + 23 is quite costly for just alloys and tires, so i ve cancelled that from the dealer.

@horsepower, those are great bargains!! no one gives 1000 for a stock tire here. its 800-850 max. i dont know why the guy is charging me 3800 for bridgestones or good years. of course these are 15"

now i am totally confused on the talks i had here. the price points are killing me. i for sure know from theMAG and jaggu that 15" alloys plati or lenso cost 21-23k, remember i said 15" not 14.

that aside i m unsure what tires i must go for. michelin is on the costlier side, but i am trying my best to be around the 4000 mark. i dont understand who is cheating me and who isnt in bangalore. this has become a rotten place to stay these days. but hopefully the 3800 per tire seems to make sense for 15 inchers. all the talk going on here is perhaps for 14 inchers. and these are all for a set of 5, not for 4. so does it make sense now???

As we upgrade the rims to higher size, do we need to register this with RTO? and in New Zealand's Suzuki website, I even saw 16inch alloys fitted for the Sport model. Is it safe to go for 16inch in Indian Swift? Assume, ours structurally should be same except the power which 1.6l/120+bhp.

lastly any idea for a decent alloys either enkei or lenso with bridgestone tires, how much it will cost?

really sorry i was under the impression you were looking at 14".

15 inch will get you lot of good option and Michellin for overall ride, tyre life and godd performance and Yoko ES for hardcore performance with slight compromise on tyre life.

noise from shocks !!

yesterday while driving back home from office, i was hearing some metal bending noise from my vdi. especially after climbing over a speed braker or if i hit a pothole. i believe this could be because of mud or something obstructing my shocks operation. Also i feel this could be bcos of driving in rain...but today the noise has considerably reduced.

anybody has seen this behavior in your vdis or ldis??

Did bring it to the notice of the service advisor, but he didnt seem to have any clue and wanted the car to run a bit more. It has done around 1500 kms so far.
I used to feel this in the Indica, but seems to have become ok over time.
Me too had the same problem, when I reported to the dealer, they said seems to be a problem with the gearbox mounting, later the come up and said need to dismantle and reset the clutch, the did that too, but issue remains and now the are saying they have ordered for a pair of clutch disk and pressure plate will be here within one week time we will change that too and lets see....
as you said its a small thump when putting into the 1st gear, and some time when you take the car on 1st from a signal you will have jerky shiver as you are on half clutch on my old old Ambi.

@jaggu, its definitely not a squeak. its very similar to the sound produced if you bend some metal. its bit soft. and i experience it only when i go over some speed breakers or if i hit a pothole.

i am taking it to MUL service center in Whitefield tomorrow to address my wheel alignment problem, which I mentioned during my first service, but it has not been completed addressed after the service. i will tell them to check this noise also.

Well I am facing none of the noises referred by you people, but there are sounds from 2 places whose place of origin I am not able to know. One comes from near the Driver's side seat belt and other comes from near the end of Rear Left Door. Any idea how can i trace the source ?
