re: 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) | EDIT: 5 years & 43,000 km update

Got the 5 year service carried out at ~43K km for a grand total of ~INR 28K. Was late by over a month and was receiving CBS stern messages on start-up!

Toyed with the idea of postponing till June to actually complete 5 years, and try to qualify for the BMW Joy Rewards programme, but have road trips planned and did not want the risk.

No complaints really, and hence it was a routine service as mandated by the BMW Service Cost Estimator and online BMW Service system. Confirmed there were no Service Bulletins for my VIN too.

Mandatory consumables replaced included engine oil, oil filter and air filter. Additionally, opted to replace the air filter (seems it can be cleaned and refitted but I felt avoidable in an Indian context), and cabin microfilter too as outside odours were seeping in regularly. Battery health was ok (forgot to ask exactly how ok) and brake pads/rotors within acceptable tolerances.

The bill was inclusive of an (agreed-upon) 'Extended Vehicle Check' at the 5 year mark for INR 4.5K. Corroborated same with the Estimator too, and it was only present in year 5. The 3 has seen some speedy and varied use on rough highways this year, and I wanted every possible extended check to be carried out.

One outcome was that the LHS wishbone / control arm and control rod were found faulty, and replaced (without any quibble) under my soon-to-expire 5Y BRI. Received a FoC invoice for the same, hence BMW India retail pricing is unknown. A BMW 'Kinematics' ride height measurement and wheel alignment was also included. Googled US/EU sites to find the OEM components would have cost ~300$ there; labour came to ~20 FRUs too.

Overall satisfied and looking forward to an uneventful year ahead!
