As far as I know, the 4 speed AT box is also from Aisin. Pop up the hood and have a look for yourself on the gearbox casing.

I think you must have mistaken the setup with the one found in the Jimny that also uses the K15B motor. The Jimny is the only car in Maruti's line-up to use Aisin's TW-40 4AT gearbox since the engine is mounted longitudinally.

The FWD models of Maruti that have the K15B engine use Jatco's JF405E 4AT unit.

Shashi, I read your steering replacement few seasons ago and came back for advice since I am facing the same issue now.

My 2017 facelifted S-cross's steering is showing age - the cruise control buttons were not working for 2 years and leather wrapping is also gone. Now for last few days the volume controls are not working - Until now I didn't bother but volume controls are used everyday so have to action now.

I think its better to replace the whole steering rather than fixing each issue. Now S-cross Steering wheel is costing 11,000/-(https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-whee...ering-6797190/) whereas 2nd Gen Brezza/XL6's is available at half the price (https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-whee...ring-58238092/). The question is will it fit in? Please advice if you know or any other suggestion.

Not really, the Ciaz is a FWD, we have had both the K14B and K15B variants, both have had the Aisin 4 speed AT box.

- Probably a stupid question but I have had this for many years when we got the old XL6 in 2019, what is the buzzing sound upon startup and when the doors are opened after shutting off the engine? I have observed this in newer Maruti cars that offer the Push Start/Stop system and the updated TFT MID display in the instrument cluster. The sound seems to originate from the cluster meter, I feel it could be the steering lock actuator but I could be wrong.
This buzzing sound is indeed the steering lock engaging.

I confirmed it by moving the steering wheel before and trying to move the steering after the sound.

The steering hole for the flat-bottom style steering wheels from Maruti is slightly larger in size, so it won’t be a direct fit to the existing column. You can refer to DBHPian Dr. Naren’s thread (My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha | Stage 3 Wolf (202 HP / 438 Nm) | EDIT : Sold - Pg 61) regarding the same.

You could still however try the fitment on your S-Cross as I’m not sure if the facelift uses a different column design, make sure you order the steering wheel from Boodmo so that you can return it if it’s not compatible.

Symptoms: It isn't a mass recall, it's for those customers who face uneven wear issues on rear tyre. I know some owners who have reported this. For their case, Maruti has provided a service circular to all dealers dated 6th January 2021. There is a chassis number cutoff provided, all cars manufactured before LK(October 2020). I don't remember the exact VIN, you can get those details by getting in touch with your Workshop Manager(WM). My XL6's VIN has LF(June 2020 make) so I am eligible.
Folks, my 2019 June Ertiga had severe left rear tyre wear. I couldn't do a alignment/rotation for about 8K kms and the wear was noticeable. My car has done 36K Kms now. I've taken the car to Maruti-Pratham Motors Bangalore, but they have no clue about this recall. I'm unable to find any notice from Maruti for this recall online. There is just one online post on Shifting gears other than this TBHP thread. If anyone has access to this information, it will be very helpful.

Hi, this is my first reply in team-bhp. The Li-Ion battery charges during coasting down and uses it for the motor during hard acceleration. You can notice this when you travel through the hilly areas. 90 km trip might have charged it but also utilised.
Check whether it gets charged as well motor comes in line during acceleration when the battery level is more three bars. Hope it helps.

Re: My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review

Hi Shashi & fellow members,
I have been facing issue with the Auto Start/Stop in my XL6 (2020) since last couple of months. The Auto Start/Stop function does not work for majority of the time when the car comes to a standstill (Let's say it kicks in only 1-2 times out of 50) I am confused & not able to understand what's wrong. I went through the manual & followed each of the scenarios mentioned, but still it doesn't function as intended. Even if the MID shows battery level at 4-5 bars still nothing happens. Also noticing that very rarely, the animation shows any help/boost from the SHVS system while accelerating hard. Can you all help me with the reason for this? I have its service due in the coming month but knowing my local Nexa service center, I am sure they won't be able to give a solution or pinpoint the exact cause for this behavior.
My usage is quite low (500-600Kms per month) since last couple of years. IIRC, The Auto start/stop was working perfectly during my trip from Mumbai to Shirdi in September, but post that its behaving very erratically.

#Tyre
Hello Shashi, friends,
My Ertiga is 2019 model Zxi Auto. It has run around 38k kms. The front two tyres are pretty much worn out and I was advised for replacement for both.

The rear ones are also fairly worn out but they are in better condition.

Is it advisable to 16inch tyres? -
Will it require replacement of rims also?
Will it require change of suspensions?
What could be approx cost in this case?

At a minimum, I can replace only front 2 tyres and leave the rear ones as it is.

Also, can you suggest any reliable retailer where I can purchase new tyres in Bengaluru?

Requesting your valuable advice.

You could switch to 16-inch wheels, however, if you stick to the current suspension setup, it would degrade the ride quality which is not ideal for a family vehicle.

You could use the suspension parts and wheels from the facelifted XL6 as they are directly compatible with the Ertiga, but with all the costs involved (struts, shocks, rims, tyres, etc...) it can easily reach up to Rs. 1 lakh.

My advice would be to stick to your current set of rims and upsize your tyres to
195/65 R15 which will provide better surface contact and a slightly better ride quality.

If you're planning to change the tyres, I would suggest replacing all 4 tyres (or 5 if you follow 5-tyre rotation), as you've mentioned your car has done 38k kms.

+1 to BlueKatana's advice. If you have the budget, I would recommend that you upgrade the suspension, rims and tyres so that you have the upgraded XL6 setup, which makes a lot of difference to ride quality.

If you are only upgrading tyres, would recommend 195/65/R15, which is what I have been driving for 39K kms. These should cost you about 7K per tyre I think.

Show the problem while giving car for service and make sure they write on initial form they fill while asking you problems you facing. Once its documented/on record, they will make sure it gets investigated and resolved. You can also record a video in advance before visiting service center. I listed couple of minor issues during last service, and as usual they did usual service and said car is ready to collect. On asking aby those problems, theylir standard reply "engineer did not found anything wrong". Then I blasted there asking why they did not called me if not able to replicate, I was there itself waiting in their launge. Now they told pls come other day as other car already in queue and if again to enter inside service bay, it will take 2-3 hrs in queue etc etc. I blasted and finally their center head appeared, I showed the form and showed the problems, now his turn to blast his engineers, got my car immediately in bay area, resolved those minor issues, even car shockers of car dicky door were changed as door was falling down, for which earlier they were saying dicky door shockers will come in stock after a week.
All compeleted within 1 hr service center head intervention.

Next - I got feedback calls from head office asking abt the service engr - I told the while story that they did resolved complaints even after listing on initial form. For which they raised with center head and other people, and then all called me to apologies and said they will make sure every complaint written on form is attended.

So my word of advice, make it documented on initial form while giving for service, and also record video in advance so that they can understand the issue.

Mine was a Nexa service center in Noida area (not mentioning name here assuming they would have improved)
