A FE of 14kmpl in city traffic for the Wagon R is good. Has the car covered only 6K? if yes, you can expect a rise in FE after it crosses the 10K mark.

Thanks GPA

Thanks GPA,

Dude, Thanks for the reply. I too am expecting the fe to improve after 10k. Although I have already had an FE of 17 on the Hihgway. I guess it also depends on the driving and Traffic conditions. Higher Fe is always good in these days of slowdowns.

Thanks and warm regards.

Mine had clocked 71,000 now after 3 and a half years and I daily commute to work and back in a typical office hour traffic in Bangalore. The Distance is 34 Kms one way and I have been doing this stretch since almost a year now the usual FE I've got with 70% AC Usage is 15Kmpl and the worst I've got is around 13Kmpl.

Knowing the fact that I have to drive every day, I cannot compromise on the FE part by driving in a way that would affect the FE. I have stuck to changing gears as sooner as possible and never revved over a higher RPM.

It also runs as smooth as ever since I am the only one who's been driving this all along.

My Waggie has clocked 50K in the past 8 years, but my FE ranges from 11 to 13 in Hyd city driving---same as my Fiesta's. I used to get 13 -14 in Vizag in the initial 2 years, but that city has sparser traffic.

Just tanked up my Alto this morning and calculated the FE from the last tankful of petrol and it read as 19.57 kmpl. All this with driving only in the city and minimal use of the a/c. My friend who has an A-Star was green with envy as he was tanking up too at the same time
