The trip went good. The oil level was stable.

Additionally the safari was taken to Rameshwaram and Tiruchendur this monday.

Odo reads 1,11,262 km at the start of December.

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT

Congrats, Another mean machine going great. Mine 2011 Dicor covered 1,35,000 km and still going tough. I am in love with it and don't know what will happen when I have to go for the next car soon. I would like if Tata provide AT in Storme else I don't feel or found anything comparable to safari in Indian market at this price.

Awesome captures mate. Great to see a fellow bhpian enjoying every mile in the beast. How many ever SUV's have been launched, the emotions that a Safari instills is unparalleled.

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT

Thanks for the very well written ownership review of your Safari LX Dicor,, its very helpful for potential buyers of the amazing tata's product of all time. I am also planning on a partly used Safari Storme 2.2LX as I don't like those raised up hatchbacks aka 'Compact SUVs'.

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT

Odo : 1,25,692 km

The big boy was sent for routine service. Usual stuff, engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter replacement & wash.

Costed 6k.

Only good SVC in Trichy- VST motors has shut down. So I had to put up with Lakshmi motors, with whom I have had bitter experiences when i had my 2002 Sumo DX. Anyways I dont have a choice now, except for myTVS, which was closed due to renovation.

Next service will be at 1,40,000 km

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT

Prasanna, appreciate the time and effort put in, to do the review.

Though I has owned many vehicles including the big boys such as XUV500, Scorpio and Innova, I never had a chance to own a Safari. I love it's look from the time it was launched.

How is the braking of the Safari? I think ABS is a must, if someone is hunting for a used Safari Dicor, is n't it?

Best of luck with your Safari for your next milestones.

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT

Hello friends,
This is going to be the last update on my safari in this thread.

Odo: 1,37,900 km

I have booked a Safari Storme VX Varicor 400 4*2.
I was interested in Hexa but the space of first two rows was not as enormous as in Safari and the bench height was a bit too low to our liking.

Once a Safari fan, always a Safari fan!

I got a very decent resale for my DICOR. 3.4 lakhs!

Giving away the DICOr today. It has been almost 6 years of amazing , trouble free , comfortable ownership. New Safari gets 4 discs, ABS, dual airbags, roof mounted ac, better platform, lesser turning radius, more power n torque (18bhp and 80Nm more) and most importantly a 6th gear.

Costs me 16.9 lakhs OTR. Hoping for another lovely safari ownership. I will post the ownership thread once I get it.

Here are some final pics of my darling beast- the mighty Safari DICOR.

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT - Now Sold

Hello BHPians

An update. I opted for 2018 over the 2017 model. I lose 68k benefits but that's ok. My Pearl white baby, the Storme 400 VX has arrived and I did a brief PDI.

No external or internal scratches. The interior at the last row was a little dirty at some places, nothing that the Tata pdi cannot take care of.

I wanted the urban bronze as my ciaz is also the same color and I love it. Storme being a slow moving car, I had to wait it out for 2 months for the urban bronze to be here. Now that I have already given off my DICOR, I needed the car ASAP. Hence settled with pearl white.

The color looks brilliant in person. I am happy that I got the pearl white.

Engine is nearly arranged compared to my DICOR. The car looks beautiful Checked the VIN- Jan 2018. Delivery mostly by Thursday.

Standing besides is my another ride quality champ- the Ciaz

Re: 100,000 km of comfort - My Tata Safari DiCOR 2.2 VTT - Now Sold

Congratulations Prasanna.

I would say Pearl white is the best colour on Safari and it is the one which is easy on maintenance from my personal experience. I am not at all surprised why you choose Storme over Hexa. Despite of so many features and creature comfort the basic design of Hexa is a downer for me. If someone if strictly looking for an AT only then Hexa make some sense else the MUVish design spoils the party here.

I am still hoping that Tata will introduce AT in Safari lineup so that I can exchange my Dicor with the same. I am still holding my Dicor and it is doing great with 150k kms on ODO in last 7 years. When Tata can pick a sales dud Aria and transform it into Hexa a niche and competent product they can actually do the same with Storme and continue the Safari Legacy.

Thanks Roby!

Regarding DICOr, I still regret selling it away. It could have lasted easy 2.5 lakh km. My dad too didn't want to sell it. But it doesnt make sense having two large trucks in the garage.

My garage can accomodate 2 large cars and 1 hatchback. So it is going to be Storme + Ciaz and Celerio. Even then our beloved kwid has to be parked outside. If I hadn't sold the DICOr, we would be blocking a big part of the road

I heard the sales GM of the Tata dealership is going to have my DICOR as his personal car for long journeys. Says a lot about Safari's comfort!

Btw mine is the first safari Storme the dealer is selling. They are new and 3 months since they opened shop. In the yard, I see 5 hexas and a lonely Storme. Looks like Hexa is people's (non safari owners) favourite big car.
