re: My Outback Bronze Renault Kwid RXT(O) - Now 5 years / 18,000 km up Weekend Getaway from Manipal : Bhadra river rafting & Kyathanamakki Hilltop
Car: Kwid
Passengers: 4
Route taken: Manipal -> Kudremukh -> Kalasa
Total distance: 255 Km
Overall FE: 16.5 KMPL Day 1:
We left Manipal at 9 30 am and reached our home stay at Kalasa by 12 pm.
The above pics were taken at Kudremukh National Park. Very beautiful! Home Stay: Kaapikaadu Holiday Home
This place is located inside a coffee estate and next to Bhadra river. The owner is very friendly and the food was too good. Approx : 2500 / person.
We headed for river rafting after lunch. It was organized by ACE Paddlers, around 15 kms from our home stay. Rafting lasted for 1 hour and it was fun.
Price : 1200 / person
We spent rest of the day at our home stay and enjoyed the night. Not to forget that the dinner was amazing. Day 2:
We checked out after breakfast. There's no way we could reach the hilltop in a Kwid. The terrain is very bad and even 4x4 vehicles find this as a challenge.
Thar was quickly arranged for the mission
And after 30 minutes..we were at top of the world haha!!
The view was fantastic and it was totally worth getting to this place. My friend managed to get an amazing time lapse video in his K20 Pro.
We headed back to Manipal after late lunch. On our way back, We went to this beautiful Ganesh temple amidst tea estate.
Back to Manipal by late evening. Filled up the tank and overall FE was 1 kmpl more than MID figure. Yes, the MID reading in Kwid is conservative. I have confirmed the same couple of times.
Overall, I am satisfied with how the car performed except for climbing ghats with 4 people, luggage and AC. I had to work between first and 2nd gears. Handling was actually good, I am happy and enjoyed this on our way back (Downhill )
This trip made me realise that Kwid is Fun too |
