Need your advice, stock Alpha headlights are available for 12500 per side. For 25k, isn't it better than other HID retrofitments in terms of reliability and fit and finish. Yes I know the lighting may not be the best, but I am ok with stock LEDs of the Baleno Alpha.

What other expense would I incur for fitting those on my Zeta?

Wolf moto finally has a remap for Tiago petrol AMT. As it is a NA engine, the gains aren't much but they are claiming about 8-10%. I talked to a person who has gone with it and works closely with Wolf and he told me that the torque is up from 115nm to 123nm at crank while power has gone up from 83hp at crank to 90hp at wheel, I'm not aware of the stock hp at crank. Yes, the gains are not much for NA petrol. I am satisfied with Wolf remap, there is supposed to be an updated map which I couldn't get due to lockdown. I see that you are from Delhi, GT Tunerz is a good option too .

I had installed after market projectors along with Panamera shrouds. There was enough space for the wires, the gap was filled using some sealant, I do face water / moisture issues.

Go with OE headlights only if you want the looks. The output is nowhere close to good after market bixenon projector.

Yes, it's a known issue. I guess the glue is not of good quality, Maruti should really take care of such things in their "Premium" hatchback.

The car was quarantined for a looooong time, say more than 1 year. It wasn't driven at all.

5th year service:

What was done ?

1. Engine oil and filter change
2. EBC Ultimax-2 brake pads, caliper greasing
3. Front stabilizer links rods
4. Front stabilizer mounts
5. Flat bottom steering wheel

Regular service cost was around 3.5k. I had sourced the brake pads, link rods, steering wheel and airbag on my own. It was just installed at service centre, paid 1.2k more as labour.

TVS Dura pads lasted 15k Kms



New links rod and EBC Ultimax-2 pad



New stabilizer mount, changed on both sides ( costs just 100 bucks )



And the best thing happened...Flat Bottom Steering !!!! (Before vs After)





Do note that this is steering wheel of XL6. I don't recommend this in Baleno. The steering wheel of Swift is direct fit and doesn't have cruise control. I had spare XL6 steering as it didn't my S-Cross.

Steering wheel of XL6 fits properly on the steering column of Baleno. But it's not plug and play when it comes to steering functions, hence I suggest steering wheel of Swift for swap.
The contact coil connectors are different in Baleno and XL6. I was ignorant and didn't even think of it as XL6 has extra wires for cruise control and the connectors could be different.

I could have executed this better, but due to lack of time..We cut the connector from Baleno steering and joined it to XL6 one. All the functions work and there is no error with airbag too. Oh yes , the cruise control buttons are dummy in my Baleno. It will cost 12k approx for steering and airbag, Maruti parts are really economical .

I love the new wheel. It has got good feel, contours and the look is killer.

3. Satin black roof wrap ( the old CF wrap has become dull )

The deal was very good. Let's see how the claim process is. I need to get a minor damage fixed. I have opted for add on NCB protect. It was only Rs. 96 more.

I guess it would require full painting of the door and panel.

Engine air filter:

BMC filter was dirty. I didn't have the cleaning kit. I got Mahle Purolator filter for Rs. 296 from Boodmo.

I have registered the claim using Acko app. I had to upload the pictures. Acko will give an offer soon and transfer the amount if it's acceptable to me. So far, so good.. let's see how much would they offer .

Great progress, just commenting to let you know that the steering wheel change makes a ‘HUGE’ difference. It instantly makes the Baleno’s cabin feel a whole lot more premium.

Now remove the Suzuki logo to make it 10 times more premium.
(Just kidding)

Atleast, Toyota could have done this with the Glanza and the UC. Honestly, the interiors on the Baleno and Brezza are no match for a car of their price.

I agree. I don't mind the dummy cruise control buttons too, they are illuminated and interiors look much better now

I am trying very hard not to go with ICE upgrade. Gladen Audio upgrade in S-Cross has spoilt me

Acko Insurance Claim Experience

It was a very smooth and quick process. I uploaded the details and pics on Acko app. I got a call asking for details of the incident. Acko offered on account advanced payment and I could repair the car on my own.

Rear right door and quarter panel damage



Acko estimated the repairs would cost around 11k and offered me settlement amount of Rs. 8791. I was super impressed, they gave a very good price. The car is 5 years old. The amount was credited within few hours after I accepted the offer .

Read in your thread that earlier you fixed a swift steering wheel in your baleno, what happened to that swap?

We have a 2018 baleno alpha, planning to fix swift flat bottom steering, would you recommend that, any pointers to look for?

It was not in my Baleno. We experimented the swap in dealership cars. Swift flat bottom steering is direct fit , I don't recommend the XL6 steering in my car as the connectors for contact coil are different.
