Actually they are not promoting this scheme after the new-gen Figo & Aspire were launched hence most of us are unaware of this scheme. I had the previous-gen Figo D and that's the reason why I'm aware of this scheme.

Do you have any idea what is the price of brake pads? I am thinking of just replacing them instead of testing as Anurag mentioned by cleaning and reinstalling as dont want to risk with brake pads as its a major component
Ford is quite committed when it comes to shedding their image as 'expensive to maintain cars' tag. Hence they have a dedicated site wherein you can check the prices of parts and labour even before visiting the workshop. Attaching the link:

45K kms and no wheel alignment done is something I have never heard and you are not experiencing any uneven wear. Also, does the car run in a straight track? If yes, then you are driving an Aspire blessed by none other than "God" :P
Yes, even at 45k kms, the car is on factory alignment only The Alignment is dead-straight even at 100 kmph. No uneven wear on any of the tyres. To top it all the car is used as a taxi and driven by multiple drivers. Part credit for it goes to Ford and part to the well laid roads here in Surat. Even during the 50k kms of my previous-gen Figo too I had got the alignment done only once or twice at the max. I'm of the opinion that if the alignment is ok there's no need to get it done just because your SA advises you to do that. I mean what better will the guys do to the already perfect alignment.

This is exactly what i was looking for. I have taken a screenshot on mobile for easy reference for future.

Spoke to FASS and SA told me to come in early so they can work on my car as the first and will try to finish it in 3 hours and return the car while I wait in the reception

Btw, I was told by him that Happy Pocket Service is only for older models and not for new Figo twins. He said the warranty will lapse if I use HPS

Is there any truth in what he is saying or he's just talking through his hat?

Btw, there are 2 models of brake pads and he mentioned will check which one is fitted on my car. I asked him to confirm the spare part availability before I visit them for service tomorrow

Will know sometime during today !!!

He's talking plain rubbish. Nowhere on the site is it mentioned that the HPS is applicable for older models only. Ask him to give it in writing that it's not applicable to new-gen Figo twins and that warranty will lapse. See his reaction then

BTW, I was not even questioned about the vehicle warranty or anything of that sort.

re: Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold

Ford Aspire-4th Service (30,000kms)-May 6th, 2017

Last three(3) services of the Blue Bombardier at 1000kms, 10,000kms & 20,000kms was done in a casual manner where I booked an appointment and Mody Ford would send someone home to collect the car and return it after servicing it and everything went quite well and there were no complaints

4th Service of 30,000kms (Though the odometer was only 29,200kms) was a big one and I personally wanted to be part of it and supervise the whole service. So I called Mody Ford early in this week and booked an appointment for Saturday 8:45am.

My home was on other side of the city and reaching Mody FASS through city would mean about 35kms through traffic and I was not ready for it. I decided to take the Outer Ring Road which would have costed me an extra 40kms (Total 75kms one-way and 150kms round trip) but, being ORR it was a very relaxed drive and both sides were done in about 45 mins-50 mins each (City would have taken me anywhere from 1.5 hours-2 hours each way)

Reached at 8:45am and was promptly attended by Manindhar and explained that HPS is a very basic service and for a 30K service it is not useful as they only change the oil, oil filter, gasket plug change and car wash which would have costed INR 2199/- ++ and i think if you do it separately it would cost the same.

I decided to go with regular service as there were many things I wanted them to check/replace

1. Oil (Replace)
2. Oil Filter (Replace)
3. Air Filter(Clean/Replace)
4. Fuel Filter (Replace)
5. Brake Pads (Replace)
6. AC Filter (Clean/Replace)

With above long list, I handed over the car to them and they started work on it around 9:30am. I was seated in a beautiful AC lounge and was pleasantly surprised to see everyone hovering over me to serve-asking if I was comfortable and there was a continuously supply of coffee/tea and I bumped into an ex-colleague who was there for his Ecosport service and we chatted the whole time which made my wait easier

AC Lounge was right next to the work bay and from the glass door I could see the car being worked upon. I was taken aback when the Floor supervisor came into the lounge and asked if I want to see the work in progress. I readily agreed and stood with them for half hour to see the work.

He was quite knowledgeable (unlike most folks at ASC) and showed me the stock brake pads and said they look fine as it seemed it has about 6mm whereas the stock comes at 12mm and said another 5000kms can be easily extracted from the stock brake pads.

I was not interested and insisted them to change the brake pads and I'm glad I made the decision as you can see from the pictures of the stock and new brake pads there seems to be a substantial difference. It was a wise decision as the original bite is back (though advisor correctly mentioned that BP will take a few hundred kms to showing it's true bite)

Had removed my 90/100 bulbs and relay and showed them my headlight issue and they checked everything and said there seems to be no problem and we spent lot of time checking together and I was little fazed as on 55/60 bulbs everything seemed fine. Main Service Advisor was like a man with sweetness dripping out of his mouth (A muslim gentleman and some of the Hyderabadi Nizamis are legendary for their courtesy) and he said he will personally take care of it if I find the issue again and they just corrected the throw and adjusted the lights for now

It was bill time and I was little taken aback to see it was 7.5K and when I was asked to share the feedback and was giving 8/10 or 9/10 and he said " Sir, I will give you some discount, please don't give me 9/10 rating" and I request 10/10 for every parameter

I was like wow; these guys are serious about their feedback and since he gave me a discount of some INR 600 and also since the whole experience at Mody FASS was brilliant, I decided to give in and gave him a 10/10 for his customer service

Final bill was 6,953/-

I drove out of their service center at 1:30pm a happy man !!!

Looks par for the course. I also had the brake lining at the rear cleaned but wasn't charged for it. It was part of the service. As a result my total was 5,400 bucks. Other items were identical to your service with engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter and ac cabin filter changed.

I'm quite pleased with the maintenance and service costs of the Ford. I just compared this with fellow moderator's S-cross 1.3 and the Ecosport/Aspire is cheaper in consumables than the Maruti.

If only more people knew this. The impression that Ford is not cheap to maintain and parts are expensive is still a big problem for ford. The other day I was recommending Figo to a colleague and he preferred Ignis as parts would be lesser and cheaper to service. I asked him do you have numbers? He said ikon and Fiesta were very expensive and people used to complain.

I told him I am using the Ecsoport for 3.5 years and the old Figo for 3.5 years before that. I never knew this since all my service and repairs were cheap.

re: Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold

Well, I own the Fiesta 1.6 and have always found service and part costs reasonable. The only exception is that the drive belt kit for my car cost around 1700 bucks, whereas for the Aspire it is a quarter of the cost. But overall, service costs of my Fiesta have been on par with my WagonR.

I think it was the Escort and Ikons that created the 'expensive to maintain' impression.

Viddy, the brake lining item is actual the cost of the brake pads. As you can see they opened the wheels of both front and rear and cleaned the rear brake lining and replaced the front brake pads

Ditto! I'm lucky to continue by run from Cruze to Aspire with respect to amazing service and cheap spare parts

It is hard for people to believe that the parts are cheaper than Maruti and most definitely from a Hyundai

I was talking to the floor supervisor and he was mentioning that people are just not ready to accept the Ford vehicles as they think its expensive. Brand acceptance is the biggest problem, according to him

+1

They have left the legacy and bad taste in people's mouth and I think it will take a long time for folks to understand that Ford cars are cheaper to maintain and lot more fun to drive than their competitors

To add to this, I think the feedback that we customers provide is taken seriously at all levels.

Oh, I've had so many arguments with people who were not ready to accept this fact! It used to cost me an average of INR 7000 to service my Getz! And it was a petrol 1.1 for God's sake!!! The Fiesta's in the INR 4000-5000 ballpark. Service feedback was a joke at Hyundai, not sure how it is with Maruti.

Brand acceptance will happen if Ford are a little proactive rather than lethargic in their approach. There are manufacturers who market the worst of the worst products with better aplomb than the folks at Ford!!!

To anyone who I recommend a Ford has the same opinion. They say Fords are expensive to maintain. Its going to take a lot more than TV ads to change the " Fords are costly to own" perception.

May I know where did you get that "+" chrome emblem from?

I own a Figo Titanium+ and would dearly love to add that "+" alongside the Titanium emblem on the hatch door.

Pretty Sweet

I had something similar thing in my mind after a saw an Ertiga ZXi+ in front of me. I thought of getting a ZXi+ logo and then cutting out the + and pasting it in my Figo.I thought the "+" might look too big alongside the Titanium emblem, but it looks perfect in your Aspire

I was also toying with the idea of getting the "+" logo that Hyundai has on its Eon D-lite+, Era+ and Magna+ trims.

Both these ideas hit a roadblock when I was told that in order to place an order for those emblems, they need to input that particular car variant's VIN.

re: Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold

Last weekend I was on the ORR and suddenly I happened to notice that car has crossed 30,000 kms

I normally keep track of important numbers but, due to some reason missed it and caught a number little after crossing 30,000kms

A fabulous 30,000kms ownership in 20 months

Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold-30k-kms.jpg

Thought of sharing the out-station trips the Blue Bombardier made ever since I acquired it. That's roughly 45% (14000kms) of the 30,000 kms that it has run which is what it really needs as Aspire feels more at home on highways than in the city !!

Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold-aspire30k-kms-picture.jpg

It has been a thrilling, exciting, peaceful, reliable and cheap as hell to maintain (Yawn...Sounds so boring right? )

Well, I can term this experience as anything but, boring ; loving every kilometer of this pocket rocket !!!

P.S : It's embarking on a 1500kms road trip at the end of the month during the long weekend !!

Hi,

How was your trip to Mahabaleshwar

I don't know whether you spotted my car or not but we crossed each other at Mapro garden and then again on the way to Wai on saturday. I was in my 'yellow board' grey Aspire.

And how has your Blue Bombardier performed during the whole trip?
