Scary topic this. Fingers crossed.
The carbon black cinnamon brown Bavarian beauty just arrived home. Pleasant experience so far. No issues except for an error in the number plate. They are getting it fixed.
Thanx to GTO for the inspiration and all advice as usual.
Thanx to Akshay1234 for being the go to man during the entire transaction.
Will post pictures shortly.

regarding engine oil, i met the distributor guy of exxonmobil automotive lubricants for Mobil 1. They are confident that in indian conditions, the oil can last for minimum 30000 kms, however in europe they have tested for 120000 kms as well. I am thinking to opt for this option, maintaining the same XXWXX once my jetta is out of warranty. Any opinion on this? |
I don't think it's a good idea to run Mobil 1 for 30000km. The maximum I'd consider would be 15000km. Amsoil could go more but it's not available here, but as I understand, Amsoil is more synthetic than Mobil 1 and a superior product. Also, oil also degrades over time and picks up impurities. Stock oil filters aren't designed for 30000km either. If you want to save some money, engine oil isn't where to save it. Maybe buy a can yourself and see if you can get the oil change done from elsewhere.

Congratulations Harish clap:clap:. She looks absolutely gorgeous. Love those interiors; they've been my favourite shade since I saw them in 2010.
Please take the 6 year extended warranty right away (cost about 2 lakhs).
Wish you at least a decade of driving pleasure with her. She's a keeper!

Yes, your car has a long list of updates, including a sportier steering, mind blowing sound system, touchpad on the iDrive interface, digital instrument cluster and more.

Mobil 1, Amsoil or any other - I'm not running the same oil in my car for more than 10,000 kms. Love my engines too much for that. Our driving conditions are severe and I'd rather err on the side of safety.
Congrats Harish. How come a Nasik no ?

Thanks mxh. you just provided me another dimension, which i ignored, i.e. oil filters. Mobil 1 is fully synthetic performance engine oil and hence the idea was not about saving some mullah, but also preserve engine for longer periods. After T-bhp guru`s advice, i think 15000 is the max kms between oil change i would follow. Thanks guys.

I have the 5 year / 100,000 kms BSI. This 6 years warranty you are talking about, is it over and above the BSI ?

The BSI includes warranty & a lot more (services)! You're all set. Would suggest adding another year to your BSI.

Bet you're going to be burning some rubber on that awesome toll road and the 1-way ghat section. From a Skoda with counterfeit parts to a 530d, you've come a long way Harish. Wish you at least 1 lakh kms of motoring pleasure with the beast.

Thank you sir.
Already burned some. Doing the second run next week.
Took 21 years to get from a 800 to the 530d.

Congratulations on the monster 530d Harish. Please start your own ownership thread and maybe some images of the interior without filters. I had the opportunity to test drive one recently and was just blown away. What an engine, just doesnt need to be coaxed or prodded, like a wild horse you just let go of the reins just a wee bit and its on its way to 200. :)
Enjoy the car. Is it Blue Imperial or Black ?

You
must start your ownership thread. Your likes / dislikes / opinion of the various parameters can be different from mine. Every ownership thread is unique as it's the opinion of that individual :thumbs up.
If my ownership thread helped you make a better choice, it's only fair that you contribute with your ownership thread that'll help others :).
Take your time & start off in the assembly line!
Hi GTO,
I got my new(pre worshipped) ride home.
Is a 2013 530d done 45K kms,regularly serviced at Infinity.
I must admit your thread really helped me in the buying process.
I got the 360 degree check done at Infinity from Laukik.Laukik was very helpful and after giving your reference,he was very proactive and gave me a green signal. The car is super clean and does'nt feel that its 3 years old.
This will be my daily drive and its replacing my 2012 fortuner which clocked 111000 kms without any drama.
Few pictures of my beast.....
congratulations @ kedarwalke. The car sure looks stately in white. Wishing you many happy miles with the car. Call it the GTO effect but its raining 530ds on the forum now :)clap:
