Thank you so much for your valuable inputs, as always. Since another lock down in starting in Bangalore from next week, it will probably be a month or two before I can get the car. I took a test drive of the XC60 on a highway drive. It was just an incredible ride. Its just a joy to drive it on the highway. The responsiveness was just mind blowing. Within Bangalore ride felt a little stiff compared to the Innova I currently have, but the massage seats made me forget the minor stiffness :-)

Its going to be coming shortly. Will post some pictures. BTW, I thought getting some paint protection for the car. 3M has some options.

Do you recommend any specific treatment here ?

This is what I got done. It has served me well for 5+ years. I got it done for the whole car. You could also get it done partially on the bumpers, corners, door handle insides.

Over the years I have had the 4 corners replaced. Overall a very sound investment.

Finally the car was delivered yesterday. Its gone out for PPF wrap. Will post pics shortly. Thank you for inspiring me to get this car, Mr. Narayan. I had considered so many alternatives, GLC, X3, Endeavour etc. But your thread inspired me to go for XC60. Perhaps I will start a new thread to post my initial experience.

clap: Hearty congratulations on your new wheels. Eagerly awaiting the photos from all angles. I wish you many safe and pleasant miles on your new horse. Some folks may try and criticize the PPF wrap. I faced some push back, on this thread, from members of Team BHP when I did a full wrap in Jan'15 - cost, it is never done, it will yellow, the edges will peel off, whhaatt are you nuts etc. I have never regretted the decision. Later I did a full wrap on the Lexus ES300h too. With the Volvo as my relationship with the local 3M chap was nascent I hung around while they did it to keep an eye. 2 years on with the Lexus I just left it with them as by then I was more confident of their workmanship. It is worth it for an expensive car like the Volvo XC60. I did not do any PPF on an Amaze that was purchased at the same time as the Volvo. For a moderately priced utility car it isn't worth it. All the best.:thumbs up

I don't recall the exact number but those numbers sound directionally correct. I did not do the roof. Please share photos.

2 photos attached. PPF is almost done.

Oh wow. Like WOW!clap:
What an eye catching colour. These colours in shades of red-orange-brown-earthy colours are my favourites. More photos please.:thumbs up This is your opportunity to show off your interiors :-)

Attached a few. Will post more tomorrow.

Time flies. My brown mare shall in a few weeks complete 6 years. So far 6 years of trouble free, niggle free and 'growling at the A.S.S.' free life. I'll be writing a post on 6 years with the old girl. If members have questions please do post them, I'll try and answer as best as I can.

Wow, 6 years! Congratulations.

I have an XC60 too, the older model. I have been having issues with the FASTag not automatically getting detected at the toll booths. They have to use a manual scanner from the inside to read it.

I had a PayTM tag, which I now changed to an ICICI one. But the same issue. The tags just does not get read. Have you faced this, and any suggestion on where to stick the tag. I put up a post on the FASTag thread, but since you are using an XC60 too, thought you might have faced similar issues.

Apologies I don't have an answer as I have not bought a fast tag yet. Maybe you could check this with the service centre. Please post pictures of your XC60. Which year is your car from.

I had seen this happen to a certain Youtuber while driving his Evoque. It turns out that the windshield was quite thick and hence the scanner at the toll gate couldn't scan the fasttag. And had to get it manually scanned at every toll booth.

Or refer to your car's user manual. This is very common to EU cars that come with IR/heat rejection glass. Nothing to do with thickness or lamination of the glass.

If you flash your cell phone torch light on the windshield in the dark, you can spot the areas that have different pattern - this is where you can stick your tags.

Thanks. Why are Volvos particularly affected? My 330i also comes with multilayer acoustic heat rejection glass but FASTag works seamlessly.
