re: Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD: My Pet Purple Cheetah EDIT: Sold!

I'm glad your encounter with the RM David was uneventful.
I thought, the left pulling thing was Cheetah's DNA. A lot of tried correcting it, but to no avail. Can you please explain, what was changed/adjusted in this case.

I don't know the values before and after adjustments. But, I could see from the customers lounge window the alignment was checked and adjusted. Earlier, the steering wheel was turned towards left. Now, it is straight. My Purple Cheetah runs straight.

Congrats on the upgrade. You can add me in the list too. And 1 more similarity is that i too upgraded to purple W8 AWD. It is indeed an awesome vehicle. Wish you loads of miles and happiness with it

You are already in the list of 5 Linea/Punto owners, who had upgraded to XUV 500!

Mr. Ravi,

What is your Milage of WUV500 in City and in Highways? I am oscillating between XUV500 and Duster/Terrano as my next buy.

re: Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD: My Pet Purple Cheetah EDIT: Sold!

Very crisp ownership thread. Hope to see it cover many more states in quick time with smaller fuel bills.

The spares are priced quite well for a ~15 lac rupee car. Kudos to Mahindra for that.
Coming from a petrol car, how do you see the NVH aspect? Do you hear the constant thrum of the diesel engine? What about vibrations on the clutch pedal or gear level?

Not only that. The replacement interval is also longer compared to my erstwhile Linea. For example, engine oil is to be replaced at 20 k km, air filter @ 40 k km, fuel filter @ 20 k km, auto-tensioner and belt @ 100 k km, etc.

Inside the cabin, NVH levels are better than Linea, IMO.

No. In fact, this was one factor that contributed to my love-at-first-sight, er..drive with XUV 500!

No vibrations at all. I feel XUV 500 is at par with Linea here.

re: Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD: My Pet Purple Cheetah EDIT: Sold!

Raviji,

Congrats, Nice written ownership review.

My brother works for M&M and owns the Red color Cheetah (W6), the power/acceleration available for the size of vehicle is just mind-blowing, also, love the top-notch comfort/convenience features and affordable service/spare costs. It's a VFM product.

Wish you many many happy miles riding Cheetah!

Time to change your profile pic to reflect your current ride?

Even though M&M recommends a 20k kms oil change interval, I would suggest that you consider following a 10k kms interval. The oil used by M&M (Maximile) is mineral, and no great shakes quality wise. Hence, your vehicle itself will cry out for a change post 10k kms.

Just my $0.02.

Congratulations on the XUV & wish you a million miles of safe & happy driving!

Cheers,
Vikram

XUV 500 should work hard to earn that status! Let the Purple Cheetah visit Khardung La first. Then, it will replace Linea in the avatar pic.

Raviji - Congrats.

^^In the above pics, is the steering cover stock or you bought an after-market one? Our White XUV has a different stock cover.
