HP, CH, PB & RJ Trip Update

Today, Purple Cheetah visited Indo-Pakistan border at Attari. Lahore is just 24 km away from this international border. Heavy rains lashed out Amritsar for more than 1 hour making it a city of lakes.

This was how Purple Cheetah brought us to Amritsar.

We arrived at Hotel Fifu, Jaisalmer, safely and comfortably at 4:30 am today thanks to Purple Cheetah. Many stretches of roads in Punjab and Suratgarh to Bikaner bypass in Rajasthan are horrible to say the least.

Purple Cheetah was well-behaved in rains and slippery roads. I am writing this after driving Purple Cheetah for 16.5 hours from Amritsar to Jaisalmer without feeling even a hint of tiredness.

Congrats Ravi sir,

I have been following your thread from the beginning and appreciate your spirit and enthu. Thoroughly enjoy your marathon journeys.

here, but had to ask this. I see that your car is TN registered and you frequently travel Chennai - Bangalore. Have you ever been troubled by KA cops for outside state car being driven in blore. Oflate, have heard that KA cops are very strict with other state car. Any feedback.

Once again, enjoy the journey and keep updating the thread.

Purple Cheetah brought us safely and comfortably to Vapi, Gujarat at 12 noon today. We had left Jaisalmer at 1 pm yesterday. We took a longer route via Jodhpur just to visit Bullet Baba Om Banna temple on the way. The details are here.

No. My cars used to shuttle between Bangalore and Chennai many times a year. My Bangalore-registered erstwhile Linea enjoyed cosy stay at Chennai. Now, it is the turn of Chennai-registered Purple Cheetah to do so. I don't take out my cars daily for intra city drives. I drive my cars mostly for the highway trips. So far, so good.

Great news. It sure was an adventurous trip only considering the heavy floods that was awaiting you. Even otherwise a trip of about 7000 Kms is no joke. Congratulations for completing it with no issues. It partly is applicable to the Purple Cheetah which did not let you down anywhere. Great going..

You said it, Seran Manian. Whether it was an expressway or a rough road, Purple Cheetah maintained its poise and calm. Thanks for the nice words.

Thanks for the timely pointing out. Here is the modified cost of diesel.

Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD: My Pet Purple Cheetah EDIT: Sold!-dieselcost.jpg

The FE is marginally higher at 13.98 kmpl due to correction. Sorry for the goof up.

Clean & Shining Purple Cheetah

From the past few days, I have been vacuuming, cleaning, washing and polishing Purple Cheetah, devoting atleast 2 hours every day, concentrating on engine bay, interior, exterior, alloys and tyres. I also checked the levels of engine oil and other fluids. I topped up windshield cleaning fluid [water+shampoo] for both the front and rear containers. All other fluid levels remained at the maximum level even after driving 6,981 km.

Using a pointed tool, I removed these stones from the gaps in the treads of 4 tyres of Purple Cheetah.
