Congrats on the 5000 kms.
Very nice to see you get such a good mileage.
The maximum I have got would be 17.1kmpl according to the console reading.

Go according to gearshifts prescribed by maruti. It helps in getting optimum efficency from the engine.

0-20 - 1st

20-30 - 2nd

30-40 - 3rd

40-65 - 4th

65 and above 5th

All shifts after 1st between 1500 and 2000 rpm. I have achieved upto 27.1 km/l on highway with the help of this. Have uploaded the pic on the ownership review of my dzire.

I am pretty sure that you never crossed 100 kmph in the entire trip were going at a steady speed of 80-90kmph. Else 27.1 kmpl is not achievable

Hope you maintain the tyre pressure as recommended and dont lug or strain the engine.

To be frank I am getting a mileage between 21-23 kmpl (MID and full tank method give out similar readings). I upshift at 2K mark and downshift near 1.5K mark.

I have been using similar shift pattern since 3 years (Ritz & Swift)

Anurag.

That's why I said upto. I can get this reading if I maintain constant speed 90-100 on highway. In city I get anywhere between 20.3 - 24.1 km/l. Depending upon traffic condition and whether the A/c is on or off. Lowest I have got is 18.5 km/l highest is 27.1 km/l.

I reset the MID after every refuel.

The range meter is becoming a serious pain.
Even after filling full tank, the range being shown is approx. 300 kms..
I am leaving it for service again.

.
That is very good.
I do not drive the car insanely..
I just keep playing between the turbo band.
Yet, the highest mileage I have received according to the display is 17.1kmpl. The lowest that I have seen would be 11kmpl.

Arre, what I meant was that since you would be getting it done at a workshop and uploading detailed pics of the process.
Your pics and sharing of knowledge may help me do a DIY on my swifty.

Regards

Been super busy at work so have not got time to replace the blinkers. Nor have I been able to find time to service the car. The odometer now reads 5400 kms and is already 400 kms extra from the 5K mark for service schedule!

Hopefully I can give the car tomorrow.

Will update accordingly. Sorry for the delay. Can I have a picture of the damage to your cars blinkers?

Even if you shift gears at around 2200-2300 RPMs after enjoying the turbo kick, the worst mileage you should be getting is 17-18kmpl.
Maybe in this service you make sure that the water is drained from the fuel units ( as mentioned in the checklist of activities to be done during service) & then change you fueling pump.
This could well be a case of adulterated Diesel. MJD engines can take the adulterated diesel surprisingly well so that you do not even get to know that something is wrong.

Also, apart from MID, calculate the FE by tankful to tankful method as well.

re: The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Suzuki Swift ZDi (Torque Blue) - 30K kms up!

I have got my car finally serviced today.

No work/replacements done as all is well with the car but the service manager was shocked to see 5K kms in 2 months.

Since I am running in short of time got the wheel Alignment and Balancing done at MASS. Not much difference found but it is OK for this time.

Here is a screen shot of details of the bill.

The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Swift ZDi (Torque Blue). 1,20,000 km up & now sold-untitled.jpg

Paid a total bill of Rs 1048.

Shall be replacing the right side blinker tomorrow as MASS was not having stock for the right side blinker.

Anurag.
