Must be a blessed car than. I have tried varying all driving styles possible, but still there is not much difference in economy. So have settled with whatever she gives. And after the initial steering & suspension issues, I am quite happy with the car. If we keep aside the initial turbo lag, the performance & handling on open roads still brings a grin even after 70k's. Its due for a tyre change now.

Do consider Michelin XM2 Energy (195/60 15). Fantastic set of tyres complimenting the car. be it wet, dry or some pedal to metal driving.

I am very happy with these XM2 after the MRF ZLO Saga!

Thank you for the suggestion. But I am a die hard BS Turanza fan. Have done 2L kms collectively on 3 cars with ER60's, and they have performed brilliantly. And considering my rough usage, Michelins are soft comparatively.

Oh Yes, how did I forget that. Apologies, I forgot.

I have seen your post in the Turanza thread where you had posted that you would be going for the ER 60 once again.

Approaching 100k kms on my Swift Zdi. Car is absorbing the bumps well, although noticeable judder on clutch release. Service scheduled in next 10 days any specific mentions apart from the regular 20k all consumables change?

Congratulations buddy on nearing the milestone. I gunning for it too.

May be it is time for clutch plates + pressure plates + clutch release bearing change. When were they changed last?

For 100K service, just change all fluids and filters as done in 20K service (Do replace transmission fluid, if not changed at 80K).

I haven't replaced the clutch set yet but will go as per the suggestion and get it changed along with all the fluids and filters.

MILESTONE UPDATE - 80,000 kms

Today morning on my way home from work, she displayed another milestone in her journey. 80,000 kms covered.

The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Swift ZDi (Torque Blue). 1,20,000 km up & now sold-img_20160518_074259.jpg

Shall post a mini long-term review along with servicing details in the coming days. Will be availing the 'Service @ Home facility" for the 80K service.

Been running very reliably with FE ranging between 20.8 to 21.0 kmpl. I have been getting the same average FE (read 21.0 kmpl) for the last 7 full tanks consistently.

A collection of all odometer clicks from 500 kms till date!

PS: Two more blank spaces left for 90K and 100K respectively to make it a complete picture.

Your car is still going healthy and strong at 80k kilometres! This is good! Wish I had bought a diesel with my driving style but considering I have driven, in one year, one tenth of what you have done so far. Diesel would not have made the most financial sense. My budget was tight and I didn't want to buy a lower product just to get a diesel. Given my budget, I am very happy that I bought the VXi. Sure, ABS would have been welcome since the brakes on this car just don't have enough bite but still. The Swift is a car that sells in such large numbers for good reason.

Thank you Sid for the appreciation.

I am loving every kilometre that I drive in the car. Absolute joy even after 2.5 years and 82K kms. Only irritating part of the ownership is the cabin insulation. Worst of the lot. I am actually afraid of getting repetitive here but that's the truth.

I can't find any other reason for not owning this car unless one's is priorities are boot space and rear seat space.

In these years never have I been let down by the car and it clocks miles without a sweat. No wonder the country loves for car even though it is flogged for poor build quality (Read tin can and not getting the feeling of built like a tank).

Compared with your invoice, I did not find “gear oil” in my invoice. Checked service book. It is clearly mentioned that gear oil has to be replaced every 20k. Checked previous invoices, it was not changed at 20k also. Called service adviser and he told me that now it has to be changed only at 80k.

Is it true? Or should I insist on changing it? Mine is July’2013 model.

PS: Your ownership thread is almost like a bible for swift owners for maintenance. I suggest you to request moderators and edit your first post with links to all your service related posts, major changes posts and link of all your Swift DIY threads. It will help all swift owners.

Seems adviser is making a correct statement. Recently they had a change in grade of gear oil and new one lasts longer. Even when I went for 40k service they checked the service history to verify which grade of gear oil was previously used to decide whether to change oil or not

May be they have changed the grade or quality of oil which would last longer.

I remember the initial interval was every 20K but that changed to every 40K and now I see it every 80K kms. Wow.

IIRC, in the Ciaz it is replaced every 1,60,000 kms.

But your Swift is newer than mine (May'13 VIN Code – ED). Then why did they change it at 40k service in your car?
