re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

The 328i was also selected to be better than the new Merc C Class from Auto Bild, Germany, Cheers

Most of the video is in german but you get a good cross compare.

The new Merc C Class is gonna change all that......provided it gets good engines. Though I love the 328i

I very much doubt Merc India will release the new C Class with petrol engines like shown in the video, also the 328i was judged to be still better than the C250 in the video with the Audi a4 following far behind.

No doubt the new C220 cdi will compete well against the 320d and A4 tdi,

The new C class interior looks very gaudy and fussy at least in some of the photographs that I have seen. The bling tends to hide inferior materials. The Audi interior looks quite good and if they improve it further...

re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

Found a interesting old video of the dyno testing of a STOCK F30 328i;

While its quite known that the German auto makers underrate the power output of their engines, may be so that it doesnt eat into sales of the next model (335i in this case) or just a marketing tactic ?

Well for owners & enthusiast like us it is always a bragging point

BMW specified figures (i.e. at the crank)

240 hp & 350 nm

After the dyno run (Carried on standard 91 Octane fuel) proved to be 226 hp & 312 nm at the wheels, so with 15-17% drivetrain loss the actual figures at the crank suggest;

272 hp & 376 nm, WoW !

The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i Sportline (Alpine White/Coral Red)

Dyno run done on i<3turbos 320d showed 170whp for stock mode and 190whp for power mode with diesel tronics so I think it's possible.

re: The ULTIMAT3 - F30 BMW 328i EDIT: Upgraded with ///M Exhaust & INJEN intake!

Update: 1st Service

After 22 months & 12,300 kms later it was finally time for the 1st service of my car

The servicing included the usual engine oil (5 L), oil filter, air filter, Microfilter (A/C) replacement.

I felt that the brakes also needed a service by cleaning of the accumulated brake dust would make the brakes perform better. However this as not mentioned in the 1st service SOP but after me requesting them to dos so they did did the same as a good gesture, and oh boy the brakes feel so much better now, so a job well done.

Also a free monsoon check up was carried out.

As i have not enrolled for the BSI package i had to pay a bill of Rs 16,647/- incl of taxes

The servicing happened last Friday where in i had dropped off the car in the morning @ 10:30 am & got the car ready @ 5:30 pm the same day, here's a pic which i managed to click of the car before pick up & you can see the staff cleaning the engine bay;

22 months (~2 yrs) for 1st service! Is n't that long? Others insist on 1 yr or 15K kms (whichever is earlier) for every service.

That's cheap! Considering the fact that VW Polo service bill comes close to 8-9k.

The car computer tells you when the service is due. The duration depends on your driving pattern and other parameters which car computer uses to compute due date.

As 'the_skyliner' explained that is the reason why there was no service required so far.

Good to see such a pleasant experience karan. And 16k must have been the cheapest i have heard so far. I wish all the BMW owners on the forum have similiar experiences like yours. By the way, Fantastic ride mate. I remember you thanking BMW in your review for those alloys being 328i exclusive only. Let's swap the alloys on our cars, they are hard to resist.

Just Kidding
Cheers!
