It weighs somewhere around 5300 pounds. Thats nearly 2400 kilos i think. But the good thing is that the eco mode is off when starting off the line. It does need all 8 cylinders to fire in order to get going :P

But thanks to a CAI and a 93 Octane tune, the car does not feel as heavy as it should when taking off from a red light.
Hey - it definitely is not 5300 lbs! It is more around 4300 lbs. You are talking about weight with 4 passengers and fuel and luggage?!

Must have been a pretty busy weekend but totally worth.
How do you plan to maintain the polish for a while? Wipe with a microfiber or buff it every week or something?

Doh. You are right. Gross weight vs curb weight.
But the curb weight is still 4450 pounds, which still takes it beyond 2K kilos.

Thanks guys.

Gandhi, I might get the interior detailed by a professional too. My kids wreaked havoc on the car during the last trip to Virginia.

Kraft, I have a Jopasu duster kind of thing that i plan to use to remove dirt etc. Apart from that, I intend to use Zaino's All In One once in a while. My plan is to apply at least two more coats of polish before the winter sets in.

Oh that is just the dealer frame for the number plate that is upside down. It was used to hold the temp plate. I got rid of it soon after.

Still a great hottt looking car, no doubt. Even after more than 19k miles on it, it looks none the worse for any kind of wear and tear! It's a beauty. And yes, nice number plate too! How can you put up personalized number plates in USA? I have seen all kinds of number plates photos, so can you explain the funda about number plates in USA, a bit more?

Thanks!

You can get customized number plates here by paying a little extra for them when registering your car, or when renewing the registration. The rules vary from state to state. Here in New Hampshire, you pay 15 USD extra per year for a customized number plate. In some states, you make a one time payment.

It is quite common to see customized plates here. The other day i saw someone with the plate 'HASSIJA', which is Punjabi for 'keep laughing'. Another one was a Subaru with the plate 'STIFTW', a minivan with 'GRMAOF2', a prius with 'MPG+' etc etc. People get quite creative here with the plates.

Amitoj : I saw this thread first time.

Great review and experience of the Auto Cross. Where did you get the stickers from? I would like to have the keychain/stickers as well!

15 USD is a deal. Here in Cali, it's 50 or 55 USD per year I think.

Re: Team BHP's First! Hemi Powered 2012 Dodge Charger

Tried my hand at Plastidip for the first time. End result looks ok. Its not something i will have too much (emotional) trouble taking off.

Cleaned the surface:

Applied masking tape and paper:

And after 4 coats

Not bad i think, at least from far. Good enough to clear the passing lane probably?

Just did a Nashua to Brampton trip, which is roughly 500 miles. Got a mileage of nearly 9.7 kmpl, that's more than 27 mpg! Woohoo to MDS, that switches off 4 cylinders when cruising!

Re: Team BHP's First! Hemi Powered 2012 Dodge Charger

Well, 2 years and 30K miles later, it was time to change the tires. I could have pushed them to 40K miles had i been a little gentler on them but the car did not let me!
So, went down to the local tire shop, Town Fair Tires and got some new shoes for her. They are Toyo Versados. They are meant for CUVs/SUVs but at 19 inches, the choice gets limited.

Initial impression: they are lot less noisy than the OE Michelins. Handle pretty well too. Yet to see how they handle wet roads though.

Amitoj,

Are they Y or W rated? Just curious.

Regards.

They are V rated. Same as the OE Michelins.
