1990 Honda Accord Owner Nears One Million Miles in Maine,USA An interesting article...Would this be possible under Indian conditions?

Honda Motor Co. has found a bright spot in a not-so-good year during which it has suffered from the effects of the March earthquake in Japan that disrupted its supplies, delayed new-product introductions and slowed sales in the U.S and abroad.
The car maker can now tout Joe LoCicero, who owns a 1990 Honda Accord sedan and lives in Norway, Maine. LoCicero expects to cross the million-mile mark in his car by September. For Honda, the old Accord’s odometer reading represents an opportunity to remind consumers that longevity and durability have long been reasons for buying its cars.
While the average driver logs about 14,000 miles per year, Honda says, LoCicero drives about 62,500 miles a year and began keeping detailed records after about 300,000 miles. He has even taken photos – 661 of them – of the car’s odometer.
“Joe’s journey is a testament to his Honda’s reliability and how people have come to count on Honda for more than 50 years to get them to where they need to go,” said Tom Peyton, Honda brand manager for American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Of course LoCicero won’t be the first driver to take a car beyond a million miles, and Honda isn’t the first car company to make marketing hay from the feat. Irv Gordon, who owns a 1966 Volvo P1800 crossed the million-mile mark a decade ago and has become a sort of mileage mascot for the Swedish car maker. These days he’s headed toward 3 million miles, as described in Automobile Magazine.
