Hi BH-Pians, Love cars just like you do

Hi All,

My resounding hello to all of you. I have been fascinated by the threads and the discussion all along and now i think I can start to enjoy being a part of your group too.

I own a IKON and a Palio in Pune. I love cars and somehow even if my aim to ultimately go for the Octavia, I love my Ikon and palio (in order of priority).

I am a self confessed car addict, love to drive as long and as far as I can. Love to "FEEL" my cars and treat them like I would if I was allowed to have a girl friend (she stpped being one as soon as we got maried LOL)

Well, Hello again to all of you and I sure will contribute soon to this forum from my experiences and readings on CARS.

Enjoy
Amit

Engine maintenance and car care

Hey Guys,

Thanks a lot for the response to my introduction. I am truly glad to be a member of this community. In fact is there a sticker or something tht I can put on both my cars to show off Team-BHP.

Well I am sorta naive on car maintenance and some of you guys are like gurus in the lingo on car maintenance but here are the things i do for y cars, and any suggestions are welcome to make my ikon and palio go a long way:

- Washing everyday
- Dashboard polish once a month
- Car polish once a month
- Vacuum cleaning of the car once every month
- Pressure cleaning for under the car dirt, muck and debri
- timely servicing (as mentioned by the service centers)
- Unleaded petrol with petrol additives on every fill
- Air pressure check every week
- Constant paranoia on whether there is a unwanted noise from anywhere in the car or from under the bonnet

I am trying to understand how I can get more personally involved in the car maintenance stuff so i would know if something goes wrong

By the way both my cars have tubed tyres and havent given me trouble so far. i dont usually go beyond 140kmph and have many trips from Pune to Mumbai and back as well as Pune to shirdi and back - all in the same day.

Cars have been noce to me so far.

I am not sure if this is nuisance value to you guys but hey I am really wanting to take complete ownership of my cars.

I had an Maruti 800 earlier (till 1 month back before I replaced it with the Palio) and it was a god sent piece of reliable car. Never gave me below 19.5 kmpl in Pune city.

Hope the good run continues

You guys rock

Amit

Hey Amit!!

welcome man!! you are absolutely correct on the maintainance...nothing like a good, shiny and clean (inside & out) vehicle to uplift your spirits when one gets behind the wheel!!
