Newbie ALERT!!!!

First of all a big Thanks to Mods and Seniors members for accepting me here, I am Ashish from UP ( ya, read a lot of dreadful stories of driving past UP in travelogues hehe, well next time you pass by you know whom to contact )

Actually live in bareilly, Mechanical Engr and now in Oil and Gas industry ( a bit upstream of Automotives ) drilling oil wells. Apart from inspecting drill bits, i also enjoy photography and some computer prgramming.

Cannot describe how much TBHP helped me in my new decision, yes today only brought home a brand new ANHC..my first car purchase. Some of the threads are outstanding. Thanks a lot.

Looking forward to this.

Welcome Ashish to T-BHP.

I used to visit Bareilly a lot between 94-96 -- almost once every month. Used to stay at the hotels on the road between Rly Station/Rampur Gardens. I think Carlton was one of those.

Don't remember the names of the places now but remember them with fond memories. Also have extensively toured the surrounding areas -- Sultanpur, Badaun, Chandausi, Haldwani, Pilibhit, Kichha etc etc..

You are at the second best place that you could be: T-BHP -- the first is the mental asylum at Bareilly :-)

We all are passionate fanatics here about automobiles and this is our own small world out here.

Welcome again and have a pleasant stay here.

. I know -- but the 'legend' lives on. Even these days the old folks in Western UP, use the term 'agra/bareilly pagalkhana' quite often :-)

PS: @iraghava: I lived in Moradabad for almost 15 months. Station Road behind one of those Cinemas on the LHS as you go into Station Road from Rly Station. That was in 95/96. I remember having hot kachhries in the morning at some eateries nearby..

Cheers,

Hello Fenderbender

Great to have you aboard and congratulations on your new City. It has been raining new Citys on the forum in the past few days. Do put up a running report on your new car and take a peek at the rules of the forum as well.

Welcome

Thanks a Lot K_S, great to hear that somebody have been roaming around in same places i have been. To Others askingabout bareilly, only choice to explain about bareilly was melodious number 'Jhumka gira'. and the second question i get is Sonia Gandhi's constituency...., guess what about couple of days of my life got wasted in making them understand, no that's Rae Bareilly.

Yeah, that would be Imperial Cinema in Budh Bazaar. So basically, you were living right next to the main market of the town! And so you would get some great street food around that area!

Yes. it's Budh Bazaar. There used to be an 'Agarwal Lubricants' at the very start of the Budh Bazar road on LHS (as you enter from Rly Station side). He used to be a Castrol distributor loooong back and also used to deal in Tyres way long back. It's a shop with a big glass front.

Wonder if the shop is still there. Last I visited that shop in 95/96 Any Idea?

So the resident Bhaiyyaji gets some company, that too another Hondaboy.

And with khan_sultan claiming kinship, I guess we will soon have a full-fledged discussion on neighbourhood halwais and tyre shops.

Until Guruji comes in, of course. Then the conversation will really get interesting, though Guruji personally prefers Rampur to Moradabad/ Bareilly.

Welcome to Team BHP.
