first post of a roadie

Hi all BHPians

This is my first post in this forum although I have been a reader for the last 2 months.

I own an Alto LX Oct2005 bought and have done fair bit of long drives in the last year or so.

Here is a list of them…

Kolkata to Garhpanchkot & back – 600km approx – 400km on NH2 GQ – done in Nov2007 starting on Saturday morning and returning on Sunday evening.
Kolkata to Shantiniketan during Poush Mela (winter festival at Shantiniketan) – 550km approx – 300km on NH2 GQ – done in January 2007 – starting on Sunday 530am reaching Shantiniketan around 9am, leaving around 2 pm and reaching Kol again around 530pm
Kolkata to Jhargram & back – 450km approx – 260km on GQ NH6 - done in March2007 starting on afternoon of Holi and returning next day evening.
Kolkata to Kharagpur & back on the same day – 280km approx - to pick up my luggage from IIT KGP as I was leaving - May2008 – starting around 630 in morning – reaching KGP around 930 leaving KGP around 2pm and reaching Kol around 5pm
Kolkata to Durgapur to Mukutmonipur & back to Kolkata via Bishnupur – 520km – 160km on GQ NH2 – on 13th to 14th of September 2008 - started @ 615am from Kolkata on 13th and returned to Kolkata on 14th @1030pm. This travelogue is posted in travelogue forum.
