Hello from the US

hello. glad to join this forum, looks quite interesting. i am a bmw fan myself as you can see by the cars I own. I'm also an avid participant in motorsports, be it track, autocross or karting. What's the indian amateur motorsports scene like? Are there road courses? any organizations that run track days for enthusiasts? any amateur racing?

Those are some rides you have. Welcome to the Forum, and enjoy your stay. Rally and motorsports scene in India is among the best if you compare with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives

which E30? I have an E30 325is and an E30 M3. Both are great fun in their own ways, they are quite different despite the common platform. The e30 325 is setup as a dedicated track car. It has ground control coilvers with pretty stiff springs (450f/650r) and adjustable rebound koni shocks along with camber plates. Also has race seats, harnesses and a 4-pt rollcage. Its very well setup for the track but quite uncomfortable on the street. The M3 has a more streetable suspension but the motor has been built with bigger cams and upgraded valvetrain so it's quite strong. The S14 motor is quite rev-happy and it comes alive past the 6k rpm mark. here's some pics. The first one is at a BMW Club track day at Watkins Glen International in New York state.

here's one of both of the e30s

Hey, welcome aboard. That's a nice garage, with one type of ride for every day of the week!

Damn, that's pretty stiff. Must explain why one wheel is in the air! Why do you need coilovers in addition to Koni dampers, though?

tks guys. the coilover setup allows the ride height to be adjusted. the damper settings are for rebound. also, with the coilover, you can swap springs easily for different spring rates. the camber plates allow the front camber to be adjusted. more details on the GC setup here: Ground Control Suspension Systems

very nice. any more information on these tracks? (maps etc?). from reading some of these threads, the costs seem very reasonable! here's some in-car video of a recent track day at the new jersey motorsports park.
