Hello, Harsh here. Finally!

Hello Everyone

I finally made it to this esteemed forum, after 3 attempts, starting right from 2016. Maybe the new tail light scoop of the new Scorpio sent via email was lucky enough for me to try again & finally be a member

About Myself
I had been a petrolhead much before I knew about what the term meant. Growing up fantasizing about Lancer, Cielo, The OG Honda City.

Fast forward to today, I'm 27, working in an Automobile OEM. Been driving since 2008 (used to park our Alto in the parking for like 5-6 years, until I got the license). In my College days, I picked up motorbike riding & now driving comes secondary.

Vehicle history
  • Maruti Suzuki Alto Lxi (2007) - Our very first car, millions of memories along with 2.45L km on the ODO. Had to scrap it last year with a heavy heart as there were no other options left.
Utterly reliable, never had any engine-related work, took even 7 people + luggage on the roof carrier to Himachal.
  • Maruti Suzuki Baleno Sigma(2023) - Our second Maruti, I know to many people this won't sound like a proper upgrade, but my father drives the car 90% of the time. And he refused all the offers I made except Maruti.
Same story. utterly reliable, 30k on the Odo, return close to 19kmpl in the city, a very good family car. (Planning to start an Ownership thread)
  • Shadow - TVS Apache RTR Carb (2017) - My First bike, and the only one with the name "Shadow". I have learned everything on this bike, 6 years, 50k on the Odo. She has done pretty well & still has the raw feel the new ones lack.

Dilemma

I would like to sum off my introduction with a sweet Dilemma that I have been in for the past 1 year. The itch for an upgrade. My loving "Shadow" is growing old, and has already breached the 50k mark. I am looking to part ways or keep it for the city & get a bigger bike.
I have test-ridden everything in the sub-4 lac category & still, the confusion remains. Shall bring that up in What motorbike thread.

Thank you for reading. Sorry if the introduction was too long or boring.

Back in the day, these cars were super desirable. Some of us were lucky enough to own some of these.

I'm a big fan of the 1st-gen Alto. My brother had a 2007 LXi as well. Go-kart posing as a car. I enjoyed driving it. Extremely reliable too. When we sold it, we got a good price too.

I also love the Apache RTR.

The Aprilia RS 427 has just been launched. You might just have to stretch your budget a little, but from what I have heard and the pictures I've seen, it's quite an attractive proposition. Keep the RTR for city rides.

Looking forward to meaningful contributions from you.

See you on the forum.
