Jonga's & Shaktiman's

Hello, this happens to be my second post here after the fiasco of my first post which landed up in the wrong forum anyways thanks to a kind soul it is back it should be .... http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/what-c...sus-dicor.html

Fiascos apart I have been pretty lucky with cars to date,

I am 32 now started driving at 16 on my dads Amby moved on to a Maruti 800 (the original Japanese version) & army transport on the sly (Jonga's, Jeep's ... even the venerable Shaktiman once ) in school / early part of College.

... then a obligatory hotrod of a bike (a RD175 piston powered RXG with custom porting that did an easy 120 kmph and had a FE of 22 kmpl) during college

... then an Indyca (pre V2) though everyone warned me against going for one (this was the time when Tata's reputation vis-a-vis the Indyca was in the pits after the initial euphoria) I could not resist being part of India's motoring history, now 125K KM and 7 years later, do not regret that decision one bit since this baby and I have been to all that South India has to offer from heights of Talai Kaveri & Munnar to the beach fronts of Pondicherry.

... now I am looking to part with my Indyca and thus my first post at Team-BHP for possible replacements that have narrowed down to Swift VDi and Indigo LX DICOR

... all said and done my dream car would be a BMW 335i Coupe but being more realistic and with so much more of India yet to see I think my next car would be the soon to be launched Safari DICOR 2.2 or anything similar i.e. a rugged go anywhere SUV.

.... besides my trysts & interests with anything automotive as narrated above, I dig traveling and reading (guess you can consider them my primary pastimes), love Swimming and Tennis when time (& opportunity) permits

.... great being here and hopefully I can contribute to Team-BHP's cool columns in the days to come.

Hi Ajkail, Would be great to hear some Jonga experiences of yours. I saw it off-roading once in the Deolali army camp. Man, it can put any other 4x4 in India to shame!

Welcome aboard. Please do read the board rules to get yourself familiar with our protocol.
