Hello BHPians, this is Rahul Hello BHPians,
Thank you for taking me as part of your fantastic community and Hello from Rahul.
I am an IT Consultant by profession, crossed my golden year recently.
I have been staying in lots of places in India and USA in the last 21 years, having settled and called Hyderabad finally.
My love for automobiles has been since my childhood, though coming from a middle class family I consider myself lucky to have owned several cars in the last 21 years. Other than automobiles I am an avid photographer, love to read Health and Fitness related stuff and write mostly inspiring articles and poetry in three languages.
I should take this introduction post as an opportunity to give a shout out to my senior BHPians, your blogs, reviews, best routes have been extremely helpful to me since last several years whenever I wanted to choose a vehicle, take a trip or get some advice on known and unknown issues with cars. Thank you from my heart. Now that I have got this membership I find myself lucky to thank you all.
I have owned several cars in the past. My first car was a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T solid black beauty, later owned a Passat - the epitome of luxury in sedans. Due to an accident where in one of the sedans I had rented which got flooded I caught a phobia for low ground clearance cars. Since then I have owned only SUVs. My first SUV was 2005 Hyundai Tuscon which was nothing less than a tank - also my inspiration for the Username in Team-BHP - RunGaDa = Tank. After relocating back to India I test drove several SUVs including Duster, Santa Fe, EcoSport. Back then I think I took the best decision to go for Ford EcoSport TDCi - what a gem of an engine this 1.5L Diesel. I am very happy with this car and would never want to sell this off.
In future I was hoping to upgrade to Ford Escape but Ford packed up. My likings are still Bronco or cars of that type as I love to go on off-roading trips.
This is a short about myself. I have some of my write-ups from my past trips and with the blessing of BHPians I will like to publish them here and share my joy.
Cheers!
