Greetings BHPians! Wish you all a Happy Republic Day

Greetings dear BHPians!

I am a bit late in Introducing myself so apologies for that. I have been an avid reader of this forum for more than a decade and have spent countless hours on it. However, I applied for a membership only recently and thanks to the kind moderators, it was approved.

About me: My name is Prashant. I am a this side of thirties. I am a salaried professional blessed with a job that makes me move places. I love traveling and have frequented the length and breadth of our country. I have a keen interest in the fields of automotive engineering, aviation and space technology. I am also a PlayStation buff. Lately, I am getting inclined towards riding bicycle as a hobby and fitness activity.

I learnt riding on my dad's Escort RD 175 followed by Bajaj Chetak and driving on his 2000 Mahindra Marshal Dx Royale.

Vehicles Owned: The first vehicles owned by me were 2010 Yamaha Fazer and 2010 Maruti Alto. Thereafter, I bought a 2013 Swift ZDi, 2015 Honda Activa-i (got married, that's why!) and a 2017 KTM Duke 390. I have recently bought a pre-owned 2019 Tata Hexa XTA for which, the members of this forum have helped me a lot. I have all my vehicles with me except the Alto which is now at my hometown.

Vehicles that I Plan to Buy Soon: Mahindra Thar or Force Gurkha (in lieu of swift), Kawasaki Ninja 1000 (in lieu of D390, or maybe both together). Hopefully i shall keep the Hexa till NGT ruling permits and thereafter upgrade to something equally satisfying.

Secret Wish: I have a 1985 Kelvinator Avanti and the 2000 Mahindra Marshal Dx Royale lying unused at my hometown. Hopefully someday I shall bring them both to life!

Thank you so much for a patient reading guys. I wish you a safe and comforting year ahead.

Lastly, a very happy Republic Day to all!

Regards,
Prashant

Hi Prashant1286,

Welcome to Team-BHP!

Thanks for the wonderful introduction. You have a nice mix of modern and classic machines in your garage. Thumbs up for that!

Cheers!

Thank you TusharK!

I guess it's because I was born in mid eighties. We saw the world evolve from landlines to smartphones, from walkmans to Ipods, from VCRs to DVDs and finally to streaming media. And of course, from ubiquitous Ambassadors and Padminis of the yore to much more modern automobiles.

Perhaps that's why I enjoy old-gen things as much as I enjoy new-gen ones.

Regards,
Prashant

Thanks for reminding me of the Avanti. I loved it when I was a kid. We were planning to get one, but ended up getting a TVS Champ. Hoping to see your Avanti in full glory.

Thank you PassivePolo!

Avanti was indeed a childhood thing for me as well. Hopefully she should see some good days soon. Fingers crossed!

Prashant
