Namaskar from Guwahati, Assam

Hello guys,
I am Dr Manas Das from Guwahati, Assam and am super excited for being accepted in this forum. I am 40 yrs old and an intensivist. I have been following Team-bhp for the last 6 yrs and it has become my go-to place for anything car related. I have lost count how many times this form helped me and also my friends and family via me, in any information regarding cars. Thanks to all the moderators for their efforts in maintaining the standards of the forum.

I learned driving on a Mark 4 Amby during my college days and since then I fell in love with driving. Here’s a post in fb regarding this.

So coming to the cars I have owned.

My first car was a Exotic Green M800, it was a pre-mpfi carburetor based model. I loved the steering feel of the car and the pickup was also good. This car never gave me any trouble inIt's 7 yrs with me. It had that direct ‘man and the machine’ feel and was really fun to drive around the city.

My next car was a Silver Chevy Beat, 1.2 L naturally aspirated petrol. Loved it’s hydraulic steering and the responsive engine. It was also an unique design in its time with the rear door handles high up, giving it a 2 door look.

My third car was an Elite i20 Asta (o) petrol. I went over budget with this car because of it’s somewhat premium cabin feel. I test drove the two cars I narrowed down during the buying process, on the same day, the Elite i20 and a top spec Swift. The different parts of both the cars are worlds apart. I fell in love with the i20 even though the engine was definitely underpowered.

My latest car is a Kia Sonet GTX plus, diesel manual (have always been a manual guy). My first choice was the EcoSport S diesel but news of ford closing down deterred me.
But, I love my Sonet. It's silent cabin, very refined yet punchy diesel engine and the Bose music system. It's been 1 yr now and the service experience is also outstanding, I have never been disappointed. Recently I had my car matte PPFd and loving it’s new looks.

Thanks again for accepting me guys. Lot’s of love and blessings from Guwahati, the land of Ma Kamakhya.

Hi Manas27in,

Thanks for the wonderful introduction.

The matte grey finish on your Sonet really looks dope! A matte PPF seems to be a better option compared to matte factory paint, which requires a lot of care.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum doc - nice to have more members from the north east. Do share road experiences and photos from that side of the country.

Your Sonet looks fantastic. Is that Matt PPF or a Matt vinyl wrap?

Re: Namaskar from Guwahati, Assam

Thanks for the warm welcome.
It's matte PPF that cost me 45k, done at detailing studio. The finishing was done very well and my Steel Grey Sonet looks somewhat like the Seltos X- Line. I have a video made on on my car by the detailing Studio for their publicity, but I am not able to upload it here.

I am going on a 600 km road trip in Jan, will write a detailed blog with pic and FE details etc.

Thanks again guys.
Love driving and Love Team-BHP !

Welcome to the forum Manas27in, wonderful to see another name from Guwahati. The city has an active and thriving number of members and they do meet every now and then. Your Sonnet looks fantastic in that Matt finish. Going by the description that you have given of yourself, there is a possibility that we might have some common friends as well. Do post an ownership thread of the Sonnet and your experiences. See you around in the forum,

Regards.
