Hello from Himachal

Hello fellow Bhpians

Thanks for letting me in this wonderful world of knowledge and experiences. I really feel humbled to join this forum after almost 7 years as a wanna be BHPian. I have been inspired by BHPians a lot. Hope to add my own experiences here, though bar set is really very high.

I am 49 years old and now live in my new acquired home at Kullu (HP) . I am a Mechanical Engineer by education and was a sales person as profession till couple of years back. Had it enough of that life and decided to move to Himachal and now running couple of homestays in Kullu Valley.

As of now we own
Honda City 2015- My primary drive
MSL Celerio AMT 2017-My wife’s primary drive
MSL Gypsy 2018-Our Mountain Goat

I love mountains and driving coupled with food! Looking forward to host a TBHPian get together here in Kullu Valley.

Leaving a pic of my mountain goat.

Regards

Welcome to Team-BHP! Wonderful introductory post there. You have made an offer that I can't refuse.

A plan for a Team-BHP meet at your homestay will now be brewing.

That aside, do share you experiences of driving the Gypsy in the mountains. I have always been fascinated with this mountain goat.

Looking forward to more of you posts.

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum!

You have got a very interesting mix of cars in your garage and I look forward to some interesting travelogues as you happen to live in a place surrounded by beautiful geography.

I have spent a couple of years in Kullu back in the late seventies when my father was posted there as a District Forest Officer. The place must have undergone a sea change by now. Hopefully, I'll get to meet you on one of my trips back home.

Cheers!

Thank you for your note; warms up my heart.

The fact of the matter is that back in the day when I really wanted to get the Gypsy, did not have the money. Now that I have finally been able to get the vehicle, I'm limited to a couple of weeks a year of driving it however every time I get behind the wheel; it puts a smile on my face; it's such a visceral experience.

I believe Himachal, just like so many other hill states is a perfect playground for Gypsy. In the last five years, I have put all of 8,000 kms on the vehicle.
I hope to connect with you on one of my trips; it will definitely be a pleasure to exchange notes with a fellow Gypsy aficionado.

Cheers!
