Namaste! Hello all Team-BHPians

Hello Ladies & Gentleman,
I am AutoDownTowner- a bit longer name. So you can call me ADT to save some time . Now I stay in Pune & have done my engineering in Automobile from Mumbai. I am 36 years old now.
Since my childhood I was very passionate about Automobiles & Cricket and my passion towards both is still the same.
I was super excited when I 1st attended my engineering class lecture about engines & I still remember that moment.
There was no car in my family & what my dad owned was a Bajaj Scooter & later a Bajaj M80.

Born in a small town of Nashik, I was not able to get access to rich cars in my childhood.
When I entered Mumbai for higher education, I went crazy. There I stayed in the superb locality called '5 Gardens, Matunga' where I got to see some very amazing cars & bikes every other day.
Fortunately I had a very passionate, petrolhead professor in college who taught us many practical lessons on few different cars.

Having no car at my home ever, learning to drive a car was just a dream for me. Then I got a chance to work in Mahindra's Kandivali plant as a Trainee Engineer where I was placed in Army vehicles department. There I quickly learnt to drive the beautiful Green Army Jeep & soon I was placed as 'Jr Army Vehicle Inspector' where my duty was to continuously test drive those 4X4 machines along with an Army officer. And also to rectify the issues found.
After this I also worked as a mechanic in the first ever assembly shop of Leyland at Kurla, Mumbai which was then a service center for Ashok Leyland HCVs.

When I moved to Pune for a new job in Auto Ancillary sector, I purchased my first ever motorcycle - Honda Stunner back in 2009. and now my only and the first car is the humble Honda WRV which I bought in 2019.

Presently I work in Pune office of an Auto ancillary giant which is based in North America & I have frequent visits there for the official work. I'll be happy to share some interesting information about cars in future.

I am glad to join this group. Thank you,
Happy Driving.

Welcome to the forum!

WRV and humble?

One professor in my building owns one in white. Its an awesome car with lots of space and comfortable ride. Honda engine is a gem and the 16 inch tyres have a good alloy design. Its a looker in its class.

Welcome ADT.
My first ICE powered vehicle was a Bajaj Super too, like a lot of other BHPians as well.

I have to admit these lines did evoke a feeling of respect and slight jealousy at the same time

You are one of the lucky few who work in the industry.
Looking forwards to your valuable insights in the forum.
