Howdy team!

Howdy !
I woke up today from my afternoon siesta (trigged partly due to my 22km bicycle ride @ noon time) and lo behold I saw an email with my membership approval.

I was like yooooo hoooo! What a way to close out on a Saturday.

I shared this titbit with my wife who was like “did you not attempt this 12yrs back while we were in the US taking in the sights at the Mystery Spot, California” to which I gave a sheepish look. Yeah – the missus, she is spot on with dates.

It’s been a decade and more since my first shot and I gather that these relatively coherent ramblings of mine (in contrast to whatever gibberish I must have written way back over then) may have contributed to mods deciding to humor me this time around and let me in instead of forever hanging around in incognito mode.

So here goes. About myself, I am a VLSI engineer at a tech major in Bangalore. My pursuits include running, cycling, reading, finance etc . I have done many 10k’s and a few half marathons in the last few years, in the pursuit of general fitness. (I am glued to graaja’s thread on IF and weight control and I have been following that for the last 2 weeks)

I am a stickler for tidiness and maintain my cars in immaculate condition (to the extent that my wife brings up this in every argument .. err discussions that we have).
I own an Eritga Gen1 as my highway steed and use a 2009 Santro as my regular runabout. The wife uses an i10 with an auto box, even though she may drive my stick shifts if our lives were to depend on it.

I have done some recent updates to the i10 (alloys, LED DRL’s, grill blackout) which I would consider posting at an appropriate time. Maybe post in the alloys show off section.

I plan to replace my current steeds (not that there is anything wrong with them and I do know the pros of sticking long with my cars) – it’s a battle of the mind vs the heart.
The Ertiga’s ~ 500L boot (ith the last row down) has spoilt me/us with regard to the luggage capacity and my next, needs to have approximately the same space. Not many make the cut – so I am looking forward to the upcoming crop of 7 seaters and also plan to give the new Octavia a hard look.
Coming to the hatchback, I love the Polo to bits – but am still to gather the courage to make a move in the current conditions and also take on the unknowns of VW service.

Well – that’s it for now. I plan to celebrate today.

Ciao

Good to have another fitness freak among us. Graaja's thread is a goldmine. I am one of the many cyclists on Team-BHP. Love the sport.

I'm sure you'll find many BHPians like that.

Automatics make a lot of sense if driving in congested cities. Pressing the clutch and changing gears in bumper to bumper traffic can get very tiring.

Oh please do. We'd love to see them.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome Aditya! Sorry - I got busy over the week and was unable to respond.

Yes - sure - I will feature the mods on the i10. For today, the focus is cleaning the mold on the seats of the Santro and the Ertiga. The lack of usage and the cold/damp conditions of my basement parking spot has a detrimental effect on the seats.
I keep telling myself to sun the cars during the week - but office work and general boredom to go downstairs means I end up having to do this cleaning chore when things go downhill

Cheers
