At last! Relieved to be made a member

Thanks to the moderators who have maintained the highest standards of this forum, it was in my fourth attempt that I was made a member. That speaks volumes about the care that the moderators take to ensure quality membership.

I am a 46 year old car enthusiast from Ooty. Born here, but brought up entirely in Karnataka ( Bangalore, Belgaum and Bellary), moved back to my native place ten years back (2005) and am now enjoying the nature. My profession is graphic design and printing. I run the first and only digital printing press in Nilgiris.

Have previously owned a Amby, Fiat, Maruti 1000 in that order and currently own a 2001 5 speed Maruti 800 petrol car and an Scross Zeta 1.3 which is the first Scross in Nilgiris.

Other interests include reading, making ooty into a culturally active place, actively involved in many social service projects here at Ooty.

Welcome to the forum

Along with the credits for the first digital printing press in the Nilgiris, how about crediting yourself with the first ownership review of the S-Cross from Nilgiris on Team-BHP ?
I'm sure there are abundant places around for some stunning photo shoots of the crossover

Didn't you consider the Duster AWD? I think it would be a fabulous vehicle to own in the Nilgiris.

NPV, will soon write my ownership review on the Scross. Got the car on the 4th of September and have already crossed 6500 kms

Dear GTO, agree that I did consider Duster AWD, but budget was a constraint and after reading the reviews on SCross, felt that Scross was value for money. My travel is mostly trips to Coimbatore and Chennai. Another major factor was Scross could be serviced in Ooty whereas for Duster have to go to Coimbatore. For serious off road experiences, have friend's vehicles here.

A warm welcome sir. Glad to note that you are on social service projects & making Ooty a culturally active place. Ooty needs people like you. Its sad to read the Times of India's note that Ooty, the queen of hill stations is urbanizing rapidly and is losing its charm.

Welcome to Team-BHP, ootyguy! Even I got my admission to Team-BHP today and hope you have a great time here. You are from one of my favorite holiday destinations and I had been to Ooty in the month of August 2015 with my friends. A lovely place to go solo or with your family!

Welcome sir, I am from up-north and you are from down-south, although there's more then 5000 km distance between us but we have one thing in common: Maruti 800 5 speed. Mine is 2000 make, done 57500 kms and easy to drive in traffic, gives EXCEPTIONAL mileage and friendly on the pocket in terms of servicing. Hope you have a wonderful time with your Scross as well. Welcome ones again.
