Finally, I'm in Team-BHP and posting as a member It was a great surprise to see my gmail showing a Team-BHP mail last week Friday morning. I did face a membership rejection in my last attempt and after reading several intro posts, their patient wait for 7 years to make it into team-bhp left me thinking to foresee another rejection. But not this time, I was jumping with joy and dancing seeing the mail from team-bhp membership as approved. I was proudly displaying my "Approved" membership mail to my office colleagues who are avid car enthusiasts. It is like a feeling of getting into IIT or can we say MIT?
My name is Vikram Venkatesh, a software consultant in Bangalore. I was fascinated with cars as 3 year old with any toy purchased for me has to be a car.
I still possess a collection of Hot Wheel type cars from 1983 which is even now treasured by my parents (63 cars to be precise).
Had my first real experience of driving a vehicle at age of 6, where I managed to move a stationary vehicle (our old amby). Though, I don't recall any of it, but it would have been a harrowing one for my family.
My 16 years driving can be summarized as below:
1. Learnt Driving on a Premier Padmini 1986 and used it for a good 6 years.
2. Toyota Corolla 1999
3. Toyota Crown 1998 - Automatic
4. Toyota Vios 2006
5. Hyundai Santro eRLX 2006 (My Dad uses it)
6. Maruti Wagon R 2008 (SOLD)
Courtesy Karnataka for its weird tax rules on outstation vehicles, I finally had to surrender my Maruti Wagon R to avoid an RTO catch for paying up taxes and am left without a car for the last 4 months.
Have been using Team BHP forum for a good 2 years to read reviews and ownership experiences and has really helped in finalizing my next purchase, it's a Honda Jazz - Sunset Orange with Magnum Honda Bangalore and now am waiting for the last 4 months to get a delivery for the same.
Thank you Team BHP for approving my membership. Looking forward to do my best in contributing to this forum and learn from experts. |
