Membership Approved!!

Hi Everyone!

Got my membership approval yesterday!

I'm from Bangalore, a mechanical engineer by qualification, currently pursuing my PGDM.

I currently own a Tata Indica V2 Turbo that I purchased in 2006. It's a spacious, fuel efficient hatch and good VFM. However, I am looking to upgrade soon - 2 new cars needed in the family! Will keep you petrolheads posted.

Welcome on board. Right place for the mechanical Engineer.You have lots of choices for your second car. Go through all the threads of test drives and ownership report and decide in peace.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Looking to purchase a small car (diesel!) for city usage and one luxury sedan, maybe Mercedes Benz C250CDI or BMW 320d. Haven't really looked at VW or Skoda, since my heart was set on acquiring a 3 pointed star at some point in my life.

The new Indica Vista absolutely takes the cake in terms of interior space. However, the overall fit and finish is lacking. Another factor in its favour is that its available with the National Engine (Fiat's 1.3L MJD).

Saw the new C250 CDI Avantgarde edition during its launch and I must say, I liked the refreshed interiors and new panoramic sunroof!

BMW 320d is not a serious contender since its relatively less spacious than the C250 and its a low slung car, hence problem of ingress and exit with my elderly family members.

Please pour in your inputs. Would love to hear from other petrol (& diesel) heads.
