Hello to All!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

A Big Thank you to the Moderators for honoring me with the membership of Team BHP.

I am Dinesh from Delhi, born and brought up in the laps of Himalaya in Sikkim.

I have previously worked for General Electric as Project Manager in their Construction Division in New York State.I left US and joined family run Construction Business here in Delhi.

I love all kind of 4 wheelers. I am an amateur photographer and a travel enthusiast will perpetual love for Himalayas. My most recent travel was to Kinnaur and Spiti in June 2011 with my wife and two kids (4 year old son and 7 year old daughter. They all love travelling with me and I am lucky and thankful for that. ). We had to return all the way from Kaza but It was fun as my family got to spend more time in Himalayas. I have taken around 6000 photographs and would love to share some here.

I currently own a Honda Civic, an Hyundai Verna and a Maruti Swift. I hate my Civic for its low ground clearance as it is useless in my travel. I hope to soon own either a Skoda Yeti or Toyota Fortuner (I am confused and have lot of quarries about it) so that next trip in much more adventurous.

I have been a avid reader rather follower of team BHP and now I look forward for my indulgence by asking questions and advice as well as by sharing my experiences and adventures.

Regards to All,
Dinesh A.

Welcome Dinesh to T-BHP family. Would be waiting for your wonderful TLs.

Regarding your confusion between Yeti and Fortuner, the following thread might help.

Re: Hello to All!!!

Welcome Dinesh,

I too love mountains, and make it a point to some in the Himalayas each year.

I faced similar dilemma as yours about ten months back and finally resolved in favour of Yeti.

There are several interesting threads and ownership reports for both Yeti and Fortuner, including one that exactly points to the question that you have.

Look forward to interesting driving stories from you.

Re: Hello to All!!!

John, Amit, Sushil and Joe
Thank you for the warm welcome.

John
I am looking forward for all the interaction and knowledge. I have so much to learn and know.

Amit
Many thanks for the link. I ave lots of reading to do.

Sushil
Thanks for the encouragement.
Most of my free time is spend dreaming and being virtually at Himalayas. My main consideration for the vehicle is that it should take me to Himalayas with least trouble and if possible be little comfortable atleast for the kids whenever they want to participate my madness. From quick gazing of the link provided by Amit, Yeti looks to be the vehicle also for me with low CG and better ride quality.

Joe
Whenever you are in Delhi the Civic is yours. Just buzz me.
My stable is full of old horses. Youngest (Civic) is 3 and ½ years old.

Thanks again
Dinesh
