Half the number of laps by Schumi compared to the top 2 guys.

Since these are un-official timings, i feel there's no need to be worried.

But i am already worried at Schumi's lap numbers

Wow! Welcome back Michael! The master has lost none of his pace.

Even though the afternoon conditions were favorable, Schumi gradually built up his pace and was over half a second to Nico, with whom he shared the W01. [That's the reason for the lower number of laps]

It's really premature to read a lot into the times set on the 1st day of testing, as teams are doing their shakedown and with varying fuel loads too.

But it is a mighty impressive of Michael in his first official run after 3 years!

Massa also made a great comeback posting the fastest time and raking in a lot of laps with the F10 which will do both of them a world of good.

Oh! I can't wait for Wednesday.

Excellent

Good, even impressive performance, from Massa, who's been away from driving duties for quite a while. And an even more impressive performance by Schumi who's been away for almost 3 years (but we didn't expect anything less did we ?) ! Can't help but think that he's only going to get faster & faster. Also nice to know that the new Ferrari is quick right off the mark

But, the big guns haven't even begun firing yet - there's still Alonso & Lewis (& possibly to a lesser extent Button).

But Massa was driving since 9.30am local time. Schumi joined at 3.30pm local time. In 4th lap itself he was showing good pace? WOW!

Me too a die hard Ferriar fan. Schumi's Merc joining had made watching F1 a pain. I want Schumi to win. But not without a red car in the front

Let us wait and watch.

It's kinda impressive considering the number of laps was greater than other teams. Also it's gonna be interesting watching Alonso & Massa race as team-mates as both would surely have the ambition of being the top driver of the season.

If horses could fly, would have loved to see Schumi in the Scuderia, alas. So gonna be supporting Mercedes GP and Ferrari this season.

Wow! Another day and Massa fastest again with a time of 1.11.722. What amazes me is the sheer number of laps, 124.

Obviously, it’s too early to draw any conclusions from this performance, but it’s still a very good way to start the season and the F10 looks good.

Now, only if the Ferrari's notorious drinking habits can be tamed... which will be critical this season...

The times on the 2nd day
Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Massa Ferrari (B) 1:11.722 124
2. Kobayashi BMW Sauber-Ferrari (B) 1:12.056 96
3. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:12.256 108
4. Kubica Renault (B) 1:12.426 119
5. Rosberg Mercedes GP (B) 1:12.899 119
6. Barrichello Williams-Cosworth (B) 1:13.377 102
7. Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari (B) 1:13.823 107
Today, 3 world champions will be on the track - Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso and Michael!!!!!

Michael visited the Ferrari garage yesterday to have lunch. Schumi couldn’t resist the Italian cuisine and wanted to taste a plate of Spaghetti aglio, olio and peperoncino prepared by the Scuderia’s chef Carmine.

Virgin Racing's VR-01 breaks cover

Virgin Racing are the first of the new F1 teams to launch their 2010 car.

The Design company Wirth Research created the car entirely using computational fluid dynamics [CFD] rather than using a conventional windtunnel.

Lucas di Grassi and Timo Glock are the drivers and the team will conduct a shakedown at Silverstone on Thursday and Friday.

The team will then join the rest of the F1 field for the second winter test at Jerez, where it will also become the first of the new entrants to test alongside the established squads

The team, originally named Manor Motorsport, are using Cosworth’s CA2010 V8 engines this year.

I love the Torro Rosso livery .
Nick Wirth and Branson are taking a big risk with the CFD approach but maybe they could spring a few surprises . VR livery is decent .

The first F1 test concludes.

So the sleek F10 looks good after the first F1 test. The F10 was the car to beat on all 3 days.
But what is really impressive is the sheer amount of laps the Ferrari covered in 3 days. A whopping 354 laps or a little more than 1400kms.

The F10 looks bulletproof and that's the most important outcome of the first test. The engineers can now dive deep into the sea of information from the telemetry and extract those micro-seconds out of the car.
But the overall reliability for most teams has been amazing for the season's first test. Gone are the days when the first days of testing ware associated with Red Flags [a lot of them] and stalled cars in a cloud of smoke.
However, it is difficult to draw conclusions with regard to the sheer speed of cars as teams usually run different plans.
Now for the 2nd test and the most awaited launch of the new Red Bull RB6 on Feb 10; where Adrian Newey never seizes to amaze.

If only they awarded points for good looks.

Isn't the VR01 gorgeous! Surely Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson had a hand in the livery and decal job
