autosport.com - F1 News: Diffuser row could hit 2010 season
But none of the so called teams who have launched their cars have shown their diffuser yet!

Both Ferrari & Mclaren had the diffuser section covered during the launch and also in the press release pictures.

Mr.Newey is going to shock everyone for sure this time given the kind of cars Mclaren & Ferrari have come up with!

Mclaren MP4-25 Pics.

Posting pics here for easy viewing. Still very early to predict anything about the season, but come what may the Mclaren color scheme is the one to beat. No longer support them, but love the paint job!!

It looks like McLaren pushed the rule to the max and Ferrari may not have done so. Thus, Ferrari have two options: Copy it which will take time or get it banned.

Initial observations

The 2010 F1 Season car launch thread-mp4245.jpg
When compared from last years and this year car the nose is surely higher ala Red bull, and looks at the side pods wow they looks neat, higher and smaller: in turn proves the efficiency of the engine and its cooling systems, Front wings looks ready to go
and no Diffuser images; well, not a surprise is it!

The 2010 F1 Season car launch thread-mcferarri.jpg

Mclaren looks more developed and radical
The height of the nose cone is very similar but the number of connections to the tyre and chassis is so much more chaotic in mclaren.

Looks at the side pods surely Ferrari engine is a hot head; the vents looks double the size and positioning is much higher than a Ferrari

No side mirrors like Ferrari

higher rear wing height

Sculpted front wing

Brake cooloing has a vent in mclaren which is probably half the size of the engine vent!!

and surely looks much better than Ferrari

the side pods are positioned to significant amount of air passage to pass below where as in Ferrari it is more stream lined to move above ; different approaches but lets who will be faster

WAITING FOR RED BULL CAR THOUGH

Mclaren have only said they have done their best with what could have been done to the diffuser and Ferrari havent commented anything on the diffuser yet except for their concerns over the holes in the rules.

Should it really mean that Mclaren has the best diffuser built around the rules?

Its only Mclaren who have shown nearly 70% of their new car with the new front wing, raised nose, new sidepods, longer wheel base, innovative engine cover (how good it is... is yet to be seen) and a new rear wing.

Where Ferrari has shown only the long wheel base, raised front nose & sidepods. They had their old front & rear wings with their diffuser hidden like Mclaren did. I would call it less than 50% of the new car.

Mercedes, it was the 2009 car and we are yet to see what surprise Brawn has got for us.

Is it not too early to say Ferrari is crying over Mclaren's diffuser or rather they might chose to copy it?!

I simply look at the it as a concern raised by Pierro Ferrari about the diffuser was over the quality of rules which has been agreed by the FIA & FOTA. Nothing more I beleive!

And an aggressive looking car/design doesnt mean a championship winner. Remember the 2008 BMW, with wings all over the body work! I would keep my fingers crossed until Bahrain. Last year the Brawns came out of nowhere! I wonder who it could be this year.

Nice to see the cars being launched. Hope to see them race soon. Any idea on when the first testing session begins? I am starving due to lack of action on the track.

Mixed response to Ferrari launch with news that the car could be slow, even before it has hit the road. But it could also be a rumour or a smoke screen by Ferrari.

I hope it is the latter.

BMW Sauber as the team is still called has launched their car . The car has the "shark fin " engine cover and is devoid of sponsors .

How come a team like BMW is using Ferrari engine & gear box? Also though the Formula1 official website has featured the launch of BMW Sauber team, it is not listed in the Teams & Drivers section.

New Mercedes F1 contender

What i love abt this car is the lack of body work in the rear exposing all the bits of the pull rod suspension, the air box and the fin is really sharp thing there
