Formula 1 : 2025 Season

Below is the calendar for the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship - which will mark the series’ 75th anniversary!.

Formula 1 : 2025 Season-2025-calendar.jpg

Some excerpts from Formula1.com
  • Australia returns to its familiar slot as the season-opener.

  • Hungary and Belgium have swapped round, with Hungary moving back to its traditional slot as the final race before the four-week summer break.

  • That double-header follows a new extended break in July, with three weeks between the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and Belgium.

  • The two-week mandatory factory closure for teams which is enforced by the regulations remains in August, between Hungary and the Netherlands.

  • The extended breaks we have this year in October and November have disappeared, with the run of races from Azerbaijan in September through to Abu Dhabi in December spaced out more evenly.

  • There will be six Sprints held in 2025: Shanghai, Miami, Spa, Austin, Sao Paulo and Qatar.

  • Changes made to the calendar in 2024 to create a better geographical flow of races have been carried over to 2025, with Japan in April following Australia and China, followed predominantly by the European races over the summer and the Americas during the Autumn, before Qatar and Abu Dhabi finish the season back-to-back.

Re: Formula 1 : 2025 Season

I’m rooting for Kimi, that kid is R-A-P-I-D. The crash in Monza during FP1 just reminded me of max during his early days. He made mistakes no doubt but at the same time no driver on the grid could’ve ever matched the pace he had with a car which by the way was inferior to the 2020 Mercedes (the fastest f1 car ever.)
I see in Kimi what I saw in Max back in 2015. With a little bit of seasoning and experience, we could be looking at our next world champion.

P.S. - Someone tell Lance to stop hogging the seat he doesn’t deserve. No one can be that dumb to drive a car with virtually no ground clearance over wet sand and then expect not to get beached.

Re: Formula 1 : 2025 Season

F1 cars to get climate control from 2025.

With F1 drivers experiencing temperatures of up to 60 degrees when behind the wheel, a new provision is being introduced to help lower their body heat.

Quote:
Expected to be implemented for the 2025 season, calls for the change came after the 2023 race at Qatar, in which F1 driver Lance Stroll is said to have passed out briefly due to the hot temperatures, Esteban Ocon vomited in his helmet, and Logan Sargeant was forced to pull out due to suffering heatstroke.

Predictions ahead of the 2025 F1 season

For all the hardcore F1 fanatics here, here's a chance to go on the record, with your bold predictions of how you see 2025 playing out. There's still a lot of questions floating around drivers such as Colapinto, Perez, and Sainz. Sainz apparently has a clause in this contract that allows him to walk away should he get a call from a better placed team, but Redbull clearly overlooked him when they easily could have snapped him up, but that was before Perez started to plumb new depths of ineptitude. Has the situation changed enough since then, to merit new talks with Sainz? Or will Redbull sack Perez and opt for Colapinto instead? Here are my predictions

1. Colapinto for Redbull, for 2025. Takes P3 in the championship.
2. Lando Norris implodes due to greatly increased pressure from Piastri; Piastri finishes the season in the top 3 of the drivers championship, comfortably outscoring Lando.
3. Redbull bounce back and win both championships.
4. Leclerc outperforms Lewis convincingly and consistently, both in qualifying and races. Fights with Piastri for P2 in the championship which can go either way. Lewis calls time on his career for 2026.
5. Kimi Antonelli and Russell will be quite close to each other in points and I tip Kimi to outperform and take the lead by the end of the season.

Re: Formula 1 : 2025 Season

As an Alonso fan I hope AM gives him a car capable of fighting at least for podiums if not wins. Could be the last hurrah before he hangs his gloves. A good 2025 would give him some motivation to stay put in 2026 and then who knows.

New talent coming through the ranks also bodes well for the future. Interesting to watch who the next Max would be.

Will be a tough battle between RB, MCL, Ferrari & Merc for the top spot. Hopefully AM comes to the party with some Adrian Newey magic.

Makes me anxious man , I started watching F1 when I was in my 4th grade in 2012 , what a blockbuster season from Alonso. Been a die hard fan ever since , I really hope he can secure that 1 elusive win I have been waiting for 11 years now.

When he retires I think I'll stop watching F1

Re: Formula 1 : 2025 Season

I've been a huge fan of Alonso and Hamilton for years, and I would love to see them win again! That said, Alonso is in the twilight of his career, and Hamilton is approaching a similar stage. It might be best for them to step away while they are still celebrated and valued, leaving the sport with grace.

I’d love to see Leclerc win a championship with Ferrari—he truly deserves it. Hoping Ferrari delivers a competitive car next season. For now, though, my bet remains on Max and Red Bull continuing their dominance. And honestly, I’m not complaining about Max’s wins—he absolutely deserves them too!

Good idea. Just to clarify, you say Colapinto takes P3 in the championship, Max wins, Piastri finishes in the top 3 (implying P2), but also that LeClerc is fighting for P2 with Piastri - do you mean this is your prediction for if Colapinto doesn't get selected at Red Bull?

I predict that
1) Kimi will be faster than/give George a run for his money by the end of the year, but Russell will still win on stats.
2) LeClerc starts out beating Lewis, but Lewis just about manages to edge out LeClerc on points over an entire season. Even if it's the other way around, though, it isn't a comprehensive victory for either of the drivers unlike LeClerc beating Vettel in '19 and 20.
3) Red Bull fall further in 2025 but remain a top 3 team, and they will definitely win races thanks to Max.
4) Piastri is faster at some tracks, but also more composed throughout the season compared to Norris, so he wins that inter-team battle.

Ah, sorry. My math isn't mathing! I'll have to say that Colapinto is top 5, given that my predictions for the top 3 are Max, Chuck, and Oscar. And that top 5 for Colapinto is contingent upon him taking Perez's spot in RBR.

Yeah, wont be the same without Alonso on the grid.
But hey, world moves on. I used to think same when Michael Schumacher announced his retirement or more recently when Kimi was in his last year. And yet here we are discussing 2025 season now. The show must go on they say.

Re: Formula 1 : 2025 Season

Formula 1 announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle with General Motors (GM) to support GM/Cadillac being the eleventh team on the Formula 1 grid in 2026.

Formula 1 has held a dialogue with General Motors and its partners at TWG Global on the feasibility of an entry following the commercial evaluation and decision made by Formula 1 in January 2024.

Throughout this year, they have achieved operational milestones and made clear their commitment to use the GM/Cadillac brand for the eleventh team, and that GM will join as an engine supplier in the future. Formula 1 is therefore pleased to move forward with this application process and will provide further updates in due course.

Lets hope he gets that one last win , which seems unlikely to me sadly. Even after Newey comes in it will be a while till it becomes a proper force to reckon with. Right now the performance of that car is a complete JOKE

I think Newey is specifically going to focus on the 2026 car - when the new regulations set in. Not much chances of improvement in the 2025 model, hence even a podium in 2025 for Alonso is highly improbable.

The field will reset in 2026 with the new regulations and as is mostly the case, there would be a new pecking order. Hopefully, Alonso will still race then (he is not getting any younger).

Piastri has rarely outqualified Norris this season, and is 72 points behind Norris at this point. This is the largest difference between teammates among the top-4 teams, except RedBull of course. He will quite possibly finish even further behind by the time the season concludes.

His pace when he in traffic also seems to be half a step behind Norris. I think this exaggerates the difference between them at the end of the race. Piastri should start by overturning the 18-4 record in qualifying so far this season.

I think a couple of races where Piastri overtook Norris at the start, and the talk of team orders late in the season has created an impression that he is very close to Norris. The difference in their ultimate pace may be small, but I guess this small difference is probably the hardest to close.

I think it's a bit like Leclerc and Sainz. Sainz outqualifies and outraces Leclerc from time to time, creating an impression that they are closely matched. But Sainz is still 60 points behind Leclerc (but he missed the race in SA).

Now I will wait for Piastri to prove me wrong
