When the season started, I thought it is going to be as boring as the last one, with Max and Red Bull leaving everyone behind in their dust. But how things have changed as the season has progressed! I am now actually looking forward to race weekends!

FP3 has just finished and it was an entertaining practice session where Lando Norris sets track record at F1 Singapore GP.

I feel gutted for Riccardo, his interview post race almost left me misty eyed. I can't fathom why they didn't announce it before the weekend that he is being dropped. A driver like him deserves a proper send off and goodbye and he's such a good vibes only type of guy, he has been a big part of formula one since the last 10 years!

Good vibes, but in his comeback he's been mediocre on average with flashes of competitiveness, or overshadowed. And pretty bad switch decisions. I never understood why he was brought back in, Liam showed way better promise. There's a lot of new blood coming in soon. Kimi, Liam, Bearman, and Doohan. And now you have the surprise package too, in the form of Colapinto. No way can people like Ricciardo, Perez, etc survive.

In fact, another thing that is confusing is what is Tsunoda still doing in the baby team? He could do way better with Perez's car.

Oh I definitely agree that he doesn't deserve the seat anymore and he knows it too, he admitted to this in a sky sports interview post race yesterday.
What irks me a lot is how RB didn't make it official and how he didn't get a proper send off from the fans and the f1 community, one he deserves.
As for Tsunoda, he's rated mid at best by the main team and he's in the seat only because they don't have anyone better yet and Honda still likely has a deal with them untill they fully take hand over the engines to RB.

Welcome to Formula 1, it has always been like this. In "Beyond the Grid" podcast, Jolyon Palmer was mentioning that he came to know about his replacement from an article in Autosports, when tried to get an answer from the team management, he got no answers.

This season will go down as one of the greats of this millennium, along with 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2021, if not the greatest!

Four teams and seven drivers (), in with a chance of claiming P1 on Sunday.

This is the kind of stuff all Formula 1 fans have been dreaming about.

I was shocked to hear the news about Danny Ric

A legend like him deserves a great send off. He was good on track and was an even better person.

Also, is this the return of McLaren? 1-3 finish looks promising but I'm not keeping my hopes up...

What a season this is turning out to be!

For the first few months, we thought, just give Max the championship already.
Along came Lando, and it looked like this could be a repeat of 2021 with the championship running down to the last lap.
And now, Piastri!

Off-topic: Danny Ric was on borrowed time in his current stint in F1 anyway; he's made a mess of his career with frequent team changes, and only sporadic displays of greatness.

+1 to this.

He was a good driver with one of the top cars in those initial years at RB; that worked very well for his driving style; but he was no where close to a legend in my opinion.

He jumped ship when he saw that his fellow driver (Max) was at an entirely different level and the team clearly saw Max as the #1 driver going forward. His subsequent moves to Renault and Mclaren never worked out for him, except monetarily (iirc his Mclaren payout was quite the sum). The only F1 win at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix was something that worked out for him due to team orders (not to fight); else Lando who was behind him for several laps was much faster and could have easily overtaken him to take the #1 position.

RB expected him to do much better than Yuki but that hardly came true. He showed a few flashes but nothing that pushed the needle to consider him for the primary team. I believe he's past his top form and he knows it. Poor way of handling the situation but the RB team is a mess currently and it shows in every angle.

Thats who I think I will be rooting whenever Lewis leaves.
He's just brilliant. Like a more personable Kimi, I feel.

+1 and what a call it has been from McLaren and Brown. Remember they paid a huge penalty for letting Riccardo go and started the season with two rookies. Few years ago they were fighting with Haas and now having a real shot at Championship.
