F1 safety car crash at the Italian GP

The Aston Martin Vantage F1 safety car crashed today at the Italian GP at Monza. The car crashed quite heavily at the Parabolica corner and it was noted by onlookers that the car was behaving oddly under braking just before the crash, pointing to possibly a mechanical issue. The FIA stated that the driver, Bernd Maylander and the passenger (unnamed) were both 'fine' and Aston Martin has launched an investigation into the incident. The FIA also confirmed that there won't be any disruption to the race as there is a spare safety car available.

This is not the first instance of a safety car accident in F1. Alex Ribeiro crashed into the Mercedes Medical car at the 2000 Monaco GP during a Saturday morning test run.

Re: F1 safety car crash at the Italian GP

So this really is true. Earlier i saw the video, i thought its a fake video or deepfake, how can a car as advanced as an Aston Martin crash on parabolica corner.

In the last few races the safety car has not been used, maybe thats why it crashed on its own
