VM has only 50% stake (correct me if wrong etc.), I do not think he can drop anyone who catches his fancy in the driving seat. Otherwise Force India cars will have eighteen year old Russian "models" as drivers in Australia GP next season. Now that would grab everyone's attention!

Seriously, we also need to look beyond Narain and Karun. Motorsport (just F1) is far too big to be hijacked by two icons in India. I'd rather more and more Indian teenage drivers get exposure in EU and move up to F1, rather than these two worthies.

Truthfully, Narain never had it, and Karun's 2007 season is the best justification for not hiring him to race. He is DOA.

Anyone can feel confident in a small aquarium, throw them in sea and watch them get killed. Top tier racing is brutal. There are no prizes for best excuses and explanations, only performance counts.

For us SDRE Indians, it would be better to keep low profile and promote some Indian drivers who can finish at least top three in GP2 WDC. Then give them the F1 seat.

Support them, but also let them earn it.

just stumbled upon the logo of the new force india F1 team logo

got it as a mail...

what say guys??
i think its a good one...

cheers

Nice timing by Karun. Force 1 India is a Brilliant team name. He wants to showcase that India is a growing and emerging force esp in business.

The logo is not that fascinating. Does not feel .......... fast. Feels like a more Nationalistic / patriotic ad campaign logo.

One more logo picture

Check out Force India's official website:

Dang. When I saw the title of this webpage, I thought for a fraction of a second we might see Michael Schumacher in 2008 flying through the grid from last to podium in a Force India car.

Oh well.... :)

Anyone find it a bit wierd that Etihad is a co-sponser of Force India?

Well it's the national airline of the UAE, so one might wonder why would Mallaya, who himself runs an airline, would get sponsership from another airline. Well, that's business as usual i guess and in a sport like formula 1, where it's all about the money, any and every source of income is welcome.
