2023 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix | Autodromo Nazionale Monza | 01 - 03 September

This F1 weekend is at the Temple of Speed, the fastest track on the calendar. Cars are on full throttle for almost 75% of the lap!

VER will be looking to take a record 10th consecutive win this weekend.

However, the main focus will be on the home team, Ferrari. Hope LEC and SAI make it to the podium on Sunday.

In other news, RUS and HAM have been signed up by Mercedes till the end of the 2025 season.

Man, I don't understand the Ferrari garage. Carlos drove his heart out to P1 and all he got was a 'good job' and a few pats on the back! Are they creatures with no emotions or were they expecting their golden boy Charles to do it?

Re: 2023 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix | Autodromo Nazionale Monza | 01 - 03 September

Starting grid for the race looks good with the top 3 very close, both Ferraris sandwiching the Red Bull. Albon's Williams is impressive as well since it seems to perform well on low down-force circuits. Hoping for an exciting race.

1 Carlos Sainz, Ferrari 1:20.294
2 Max Verstappen, Red Bull +0.013
3 Charles Leclerc, Ferrari +0.067
4 George Russell, Mercedes +0.377
5 Sergio Perez, Red Bull +0.394
6 Alexander Albon, Williams +0.466
7 Oscar Piastri, McLaren +0.491
8 Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes +0.526
9 Lando Norris, McLaren +0.685
10 Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin +1.123
11 Yuki Tsunoda, AlphaTauri 1:21.594
12 Liam Lawson, AlphaTauri +0.164
13 Nico Hulkenberg, Haas +0.182
14 Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo +0.346
15 Logan Sargeant, Williams +0.350
16 Zhou Guanyu, Alfa Romeo 1:22.390
17 Pierre Gasly, Alpine +0.155
18 Esteban Ocon, Alpine +0.158
19 Kevin Magnussen, Haas +0.202
20 Lance Stroll, Aston Martin +0.470

A great race indeed!

Verstappen charges to Monza victory for record-breaking 10th successive F1 win.

The drama was behind the Red Bull.

Quote:
Sainz and Leclerc sent heart rates racing at the Scuderia as they went wheel-to-wheel over third all the way to the chequered flag

Congratulations to VER on a record breaking 10th consecutive win! Felt great to witness this historic moment live!

Overall a very good race with battles between SAI and VER followed by SAI, LEC and PER. And finally thanks to both Ferrari drivers to keep pushing till the end!

Cherry on the cake for netflix would have been Ferrari taking out each other in last lap.

A very competitive race, even max got challenged for 1/3rd of the race, though outcome of that battle was a foregone conclusion. Perez also drove really well, and so did albon.

Re: 2023 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix | Autodromo Nazionale Monza | 01 - 03 September

A second good race in a row! The F1 gods sure are being generous.

Terrific driving from the top 4; the latter three driving aggressively and fighting tooth nail and everything in between to go up the grid. Perez got his overtake over Sainz done after several tries - thankfully none that went wrong, and Leclerc did his absolute best (and desperate) to get past Sainz - again, thankfully, none that went wrong.

I think the Ferrari twins just about ensured they didn't self destruct, they (mostly, Leclerc) were dangerously close to putting both of them out of the position, or worse, out of the race. Had it not been for a podium position, you'd expect the pit crew to probably intervene much sooner. But then this is Ferrari, they like to make their life as difficult as it can get.

Feel for Piastri, Hamilton messed his race up. If it had been Hamilton on the receiving end, you'd expect 15min of whining.

Simply fantastic race . We went for the live screening at BrewDog in Bandra. Big screen, loud speakers and the place was FULL with F1 fans (guys & gals, both). The action in the race kept the crowd screaming & cheering.

For great tracks like Monza, Spa, Monaco etc., I'll strongly recommend live screening at a good place.

What a brilliant race. Fortunate to see history being made. Congratulations to Max, Checo & Red Bull. The Ferrari boys got my heart pounding. At one point I thought, they'll do a Baku 2018. Plus Rosberg decided to curse Ferrari with his infamous Rosberg curse.

But what a show did Ferrari put on at home, & no errors by the pitwall too. All-in-all, enjoyed this race thoroughly.

BTW, any sort of curse doesn't matter to Max - he simply breaks it or rather smashes it.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has said Max Verstappen’s historic 10th consecutive Formula 1 win “is for Wikipedia and nobody reads that anyway”.

What a sore loser! As if Wikipedia doesn't mention other drivers.

Monza never fails to entertain!

A good race for Tifosi, a rather brilliant race for Max and Redbull.

Carlos defending against Perez was the main highlight for me and Ferrari letting the drivers race till the very end was quite surprising, although, it nearly ended for both the Ferrari drivers when Leclerc nearly hit Carlos like a torpedo in the last lap but overall, it was a good race!

He's just jealous, I remember him being banging the tables when Merc couldn’t get all the pole positions in 2020 and now he's talking like this.

He's also trying to bring Checo down saying Merc had two strong drivers all the time hence they couldn’t get to this record. It's funny to see how 2 bad years have affected him and he's just blurting out things.

Re: 2023 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix | Autodromo Nazionale Monza | 01 - 03 September

Max's 10th successive win was incredible, but in my books Sainz's fight with the RBs, which was so similar to what Leclerc did in 2019 with the Mercs, took top honours.

I am betting on Max winning all remaining 8 races and take the tally to an almost unassailable 18 wins in a row. Pretty sure only a mechanical failure can deter him, even botched pit stops can't stop him winning in races.

Wonder what Mercedes had forecast for RUS this time around
