2023 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix | Zandvoort Circuit | 25 - 27 August

This year's race was brilliant with Max being Max and running away with it.

I just wonder how the year would have panned out without Max in the picture. Would have been tight all the way.

Really feel for Perez - he's a rookie in comparison to Max and no one in the paddock is mincing words about this. Should probably be his last year. He doesn't deserve a machine like the one he's been given.

An interesting race indeed! A whole lot of luck, strategy and weather playing a big role in the race. For once, Max wasn't blindly assured of a win, given how close Alonso ran him towards the end.

Perez has only himself to blame for the mess he's in - a mistake such as speeding in the pitlane depriving him of a podium finish is entirely on him. The midfield on the other hand hasn't been so busy with overtakes in a long time!

He didn't speed in the pitlane. He aqua planed at the entry, hit the wall very close to the line and was over the limit by some 0.6 kmph. He was just a passenger at that point. There was nothing he could do when he hit the brakes.

Probably the best race this year, was not boring unlike few others.

While Max did not outrun the others, alonso was close to him just because of the rolling start and still within 6 laps Max had already extended his lead by almost 4 seconds, even with the wet condition, which Alonso is a master of. So max is still running on his own, I hope he goes on to win the Italian GP and puts his name in the history book, he has just been phenomenal. Having the best car is one thing, but keeping your concentration on such levels lap after lap is phenomenal. The guy just picks the right lines every single lap.

Perez days are numbered he is already feeling the pressure and now making mistakes of a rookie. He also gets highlighted a lot just because his partner is so very good. I hope he does enough to get RB the constructors championship.

What an interesting race! One that kept me glued to the screen till the last lap, thanks to mother nature. Every other race should have 2 rain sessions
Gasly's podium finish as well as Alonso's drive were the highlights of the race for me. Russell started whining about the race at lap 14 itself, which was comedic.

Mega race! Exactly what the Doctor ordered after the Summer break. Full on Bollywood masala!

Max was flawless as usual and brilliant in the wet.

But Alonso was mighty impressive! (again). He was the first driver to try the outside line on the banked Turn 3 in 2021 when all the drivers were using the inside and now he overtakes Russel on the inside! Cute moment when he pointed the reply out to Max in the cool down room! Big respect between both.

First driver to start pushing, setting purple sectors (around 25 laps from the end) being on Softs, knowing that the stint would not need to be extended with rains confirmed 8-10 laps from the end.

And lastly, turning down coming into the pits for full wet right before the race was red flagged.
He continues to be F1's gold standard.

Good to see a mix of drivers up there right from Quali. Shame the likes of Zhou/Tsunoda got caught out with crashes/poor strategy.

Agree 100%. He didn't deserve the penalty.

What a race!
Quite a joy after the loooooong summer break!

As per an analysis by a Reddit user, there were a total of 186 overtakes in the whole race (63 overtakes on Lap3 alone)!
If verified (by FIA), this could be the record for most number of overtakes in a single race.

Also, Ham said 'the Merc was very competitive this weekend; and if strategy played well, they could have even given a tough fight with Max for the podium'.
If indeed this is true, we're going to have more exciting races ahead!

If I may say - Alonso is the Anil Kapoor of F1. He just refuses to age, and the way he's driving is absolute gold.

Just an incredible race by Alonso and what really stands out is his infectious energy at this age as well. If you saw the podium celebration, Alonso was enjoying his time. He's an incredible talent.

Max has grown strength to strength is the last few years. He has matured significantly and has reduced unforced errors to a great extent. I can remember one or two incidents from this year, every other race has been perfection.

I somehow get a feeling that he's getting bored of winning. He unnecessarily pushing his engineers and the car just to make the race interesting.
