2022 Monaco Grand Prix | Monaco Street Circuit | 27-29th May, 2022

The absolutely mega venue of Monaco is back on the calendar! This will be the 80th time that Monaco, the jewel of F1 has hosted a Grand Prix since its inception. The narrow city-street circuit provides a superbly engaging qualifying session and a race that revolves around all-around strategy.
Since this post is being made after FP1 & FP2, Charles Leclerc has led both sessions. FP3 is at 4:30 PM today while Qualifying is later in the evening.

Re: 2022 Monaco Grand Prix | Monaco Street Circuit | 27-29th May, 2022

For a change, I want Ferrari to dominate this weekend. Another Red Bull victory and it will feel like another team domination like the previous years.

Praying for a 3 way constructor's championship fight and a 6 way driver's championship fight. You can say I'm deluded to expect such things.

Monaco GP and wet track, perfect recipe for a chaotic race!
A 'gripping' race in store for sure

Hope this doesn't end up as a repeat of Spa 2021.

More than us, it'll be super painful for all the spectators. Those tickets are insanely expensive.

Such cruel fate to Leclerc. I am amazed with Ferraris strategy calls. They continue to screw things up.

That was some serious race with varying strategies from both teams. Absolutely nail biting finish.

Sainz really pushed Checo to the limit but man did he hold on with those tires. Nice to see the secondary drivers have an amazing battle out in the front.

Although I wanted a Ferrari 1 and 2, the intensity made this totally worthwhile.

Really feeling bad for Leclerc for having this kind of screw up due to the strategy call in his home race. But what an interesting race it was! All the 4 front cars were so close at the end! Great driving by both Perez & Sainz.

Although last '10 minutes' of the GP provided the best racing moments, flawed pitstop strategy in the very beginning pretty much sealed the fate for Leclerc and Ferrari. Under intense pressure, it was superb defensive driving from Perez nonetheless!

Looks like the Ferrari stratergist wasn't replaced after all.

Leclerc has some serious bad luck. I was hoping Sainz would get his first win here, would have been something.

Monaco is that one track for which you wait for all season knowing there won’t be any overtakes but I still won’t miss it.

Leclerc does know his home streets well but man, this guy has some serious bad luck.

At this point, the cars are just too big to be racing on a circuit like Monaco, the track may need some altercations to be considered viable in the future but given it’s a street circuit with buildings right beside the track that won’t be possible.

Ferrari :
chassis engineers, aero engineers - 100/100
engine team - 80/100
LeClerc - 110/100
Sainz - 70/100
Strategists - 0/100

Can’t believe Alonso was able to push the midfield so far back and no one could overtake him. Though this was an exciting race for Monaco, I hope they don’t renew the contract to Monaco, please replace it with a proper race track like Hockenhiem or something. I feel they won’t get rid of it because of the history but man, the track is tiny.

Re: 2022 Monaco Grand Prix | Monaco Street Circuit | 27-29th May, 2022

What a photo finish that was! Top 4 on different strategies just going at it for the last 10 minutes. Perez had a lot to prove after the last race (where I felt he would still have finished 2 on pure pace) and he did his best this time around. Good strategy calls by RB and Perez maximised it. Max was some distance away from his best this weekend but would be happy to finish over Leclerc.

Ferrari completely ruined Leclerc’s race, I really wanted to see him win in Monaco. Sainz’s call to skip the Inters worked out at the end.

Mercs are still far away from the top 2 but you got to admire Russell’s consistency. Also, at some point people are start going to question Ham’s performance in comp to Rus. Yes luck has not been on his side but we haven’t seen him at his best this season yet.

Norris killing it again and maximising what he can get out of that car. Everyone loves Danny Ric but I guess he is going to slip down to the lower mid-field teams from next season because McLaren does have a few options available.
