First started in 1991 the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya had it's first Formula 1 GP the same year. It has been a fixture since then of every F1 season and Formula 1 fans are very familiar with this circuit as being one of the pre season testing venues where we all get a insight into the pecking order post winter development. This year though it was not used for pre-season testing. The biggest news for this year is the reprofiling of Turn 10 which has been done to improve driver safety but we hope it also would improve overtaking on this circuit which has not exactly been conducive to overtaking in the past.

Layout
The track has two DRS zones one each on the back straight as well as the start finish straight. Would be interesting to see how this combines with the new reprofiled Turn 10.

I guess the dark horse for this Sunday will be Green Bull, sorry, Aston Martin. I wonder how much they'll improve from their current standing.

Goes on to prove how well the team was managed under Vijay Mallya back in the day- with complete autonomy, they pushed above their weight despite having a limited budget.

This is turning out to be an interesting weekend for sure!

1. Aston Martin is under scrutiny for potential 'copying' allegations over similarities in it's F1 car design being very similar to Red Bull's design. They have been cleared of any wrong doing but still rumors abound! Not that the drivers are doing any better on the track.

2. Mercedes seem to have solved their problems for now - Russell & Hamilton took up 2nd & 3rd positions in Free Practice P1 yesterday and so far they seem to be doing equally well in P2 currently.

My hopes are for Mercedes pair to finally give competition to Ferrari and Red Bull (finally!).

Really wish they allowed F1 TV to be streamed in India.

Well, after the qualifying results, it seems Aston Martin has a lot of work ahead of them. Makes me wonder if this was really their b-spec car that resulted from an independent development process.

Hope Mercedes is back in the title fight, so we can see a fight among 3 constructors with 3 different concepts.

What a race. Battle between Max and Russel was entertaining.

Really sad for Leclerc, also amazing recovery by Lewis.

Both Mercedes cars have strong race pace but is the zero pod the reason for overheating. Lewis was closing the gap to Russel, I am sure the pit would have seen the temperatures rising, Lewis could have held on to fourth had he be warned in advance.

Real sad outcome for Charles who was having a good race otherwise.

Amazing drive by both the Mercedes drivers, Russel holding off Max was quite entertaining and given the right setup from previous year’s Mercedes he can really make it nasty for Red Bull and Ferrari. Also, never consider Hamilton out of a race until it’s over, class act driving.

Perez was again given the second driver treatment which felt quite unfair but that’s exactly what guys like Perez and Bottas are asked to do be it any top-tier team.

Red Bull really didn’t need to worry about Aston Martin getting a similar design as it definitely didn’t perform like a “green Red Bull”

Onto the next!

Feel sad for Aston Martin and its engineers.

They are in a very hard place cause of similar design to redbull.
Now, as they are slow people are saying this is what happens when you copy someone's work.
If they were fast, all the credit would have been given to Redbull.

All the engineers who have put in their work since last year is never recognized.

Apparently senior people from Red Bull were hired to Aston Martin and have probably carried forward some of the concepts.

There also seems to be something fundamentally wrong with the way the team is being run, and the way Aston Martin the car company is being run. Looks like a lot of people aren't able to deal with Stroll Sr. Aston Martin's CEO - who actually started turning around the company has quit. And earlier we have had Otmar...and now there are stirrings about Vettel.

I enjoyed the race as Max won but still felt bad for Charles.
Mercedes are back and Lewis vs GR will interesting duel this season.

That was quite an awesome drive by Lewis to finish 5th. I still see this year's championship as a 2-horse race between Max and Leclerc but it will be interesting to see if Mercedes is able to close the gap further in the upcoming races.

Ya but they just started recently and have been in gardening in Red Bull since development of new car.

FIA has already investigated the new car and Aston Martin has proved that this car was in development since last Nov.
