No, he was instructed to wait till the blue flags and then to move over.

Just wait guys, Dani is going to come back later this season.

Bad luck for Bottas. I was hoping that Leclerc's exit would have helped him secure a win. Looks like the wheel is still stuck and will be removed at the Mercedes F1 factory.

Here is how the nut should look like compared to the stripped nut on the W12:

I think Baku is just as challenging for the drivers, but there is a bit of room for overtaking. Monaco is about the vanity and the money and that's the reason it will stay.

Ferrari have now admitted the left rear drive shaft and hub failed due to the crash in qualifying. They reportedly didn't find anything wrong with the driveshaft on inspection post-qualifying, and didn't inspect the hub at all as it wasn't a part expected to be affected.

Much as it sucked to have Leclerc retire before the start, it's probably the best thing to happen to him (and the cars around him) from a safety perspective. Don't want to imagine a drive-shaft/hub failure on a driven wheel at racing speeds on a track barely two cars wide in most places.

The Monaco GP changed the leader board dramatically! If Bottas had completed the race the constructor championship would have been different.

Delighted to see Vettel score points again and hoping this will be the start of a more competitive midfield.

The fastest lap was by Hamilton who struggled otherwise, still puzzled what happened there?

Clear track and soft tyres at the end.

Clearly the cars with flexible rear wings (Red Bull, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo) had an advantage over the rest of the field. FIA had previously stated that teams can run them only for a few more races and there would be new load tests after Baku.

Mercedes has already threatened to lodge complaint if these flexi-wings are allowed in Baku: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/m...-baku/6514653/

Wondered why not push with soft in qualifying as overtaking options were nil. Also with the now unpredictable pit stops by Mercedes its becoming an interesting season
